This information is not for me but this person  who has helped me with my research. can anyone help?


Mary Taylor Bruce - eldest daughter of John Bruce & Elizabeth Bruce m.s. Taylor. Mary aged 12 was with her family at the time of the 1841 census - they were living at Hawkhill, Dundee - The IGI showed her as being born 28th July 1829 & baptised on 28th August 1829 her parents having married in 1828. haven't located the family yet in 1851 but at the time of the 1861 census they were living at 18 Temple Lane Dundee
Mary was the eldest sister of - John Bruce.(1836) ..We don't know if Mary survived to adulthood & so far  not been able to locate her since the 1841 census.

I have just been sent this info from another member on Genes, she had looked at Scotlands People site

William Walker & Mary Bruce marriage on 22nd May 1865 at 14 Willington Street Dundee.
That Mary being the daughter of Alexander Bruce & Ann Bruce m.s. Wilcox

On 1871 census Mary Walker is 33 Seaman's wife says (Stonehaven) likely Kincardinshire living at 15 Yeats Lane Aberdeen with children Alexandrina, Andrew , Mary

Would like to find Mary on 1841,1851 and 1861 census records to help me further with my research.

1841 census at Seagate Street, Peterhead with wife Mary age 35, John Walker 11,Mary Walker 13, William Walker 9, Isabel Walker and a Margaret Stuart 10 (don't know whether related?) Alexander Walker was a merchant seaman.  Would like to find the family in other census records please

I know Esther Leyland born 1819 Leigh married William Robinson 31/12/1843 Bolton and her father was Joseph Leyland.

I have just found on Lancashire Online parish records the  baptism 30/1/1819 St Mary the virgin,Leigh, Lancs says mother name Ellen Leyland says (single woman) Abode Tyldesley

Can anyone find a marriage for Joseph Leyland and an Ellen?

Looking for William Robinson born circa 1814 in Bolton (Tailor and Draper) and his wife Esther 1819 in  Leigh, Lancashire.  In 1861  living at 16 Alsopp Street Bolton showing with Daughter Mary Robinson born 1839 unmarried and grandson William H Robinson born 1860.  1871 census he with is daughter Mary Edwards in Bolton and he is a widower.   I would like to find him on 1841 and 1851 census records to find other family members.  Or if there is a baptism for Mary Robinson to give mother's maiden name.

Looking for Levi Edwards born 1843 Bolton, I have found him on 1861 census with his Grandmother Sarah at the 13 the Willows Bolton.  1881 census he is married to a Betsy (nee Haslam)Found marriage on BMD Bolton Reg March 1868. 1881 living at 8 Walworth Street ( this is on familysearch).

Looking for his parents

John Edwards born circa 1786 and Sarah Bowden born circa 1793 married at St Mary's The Virgin, Deane Lancashire 23/04/1821 one of the witness was Isaac Edwards.  Found this on the Lancashire on line site.

Would like to find their children.  I know on the 1851 census my great grandfather is with his Grandmother Sarah, she is a widow .  James Edwards born 1836 also says son William Bowden 1820

Would like to find also the couple in 1841

Any help much appreciated
