Hi I'm desperately trying to find information on Olive Robson. We believe that she was born in the York area about 1925 and that her father was Robert Fletcher Robson.

Olive (married name MOSER) later emigrated to Nova Scotia as a warbride after her marriage 1945 and first son was born in 1946, James Allan Croften Moser.

Any information would be fantastic as we want to contact her brother Allan who we know is still alive whilst his great nephew is in the UK as well as completing another piece in the family tree jigsaw.

Wiltshire / SKELTON and SKILTON of Salisbury
« on: Saturday 12 November 05 15:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I have a load of Skelton's and Skilton's in my family tree that come from the Salisbury and Fisherton area. My earliest is George Skilton 1797 that married Keturah Coles 1803 from Dorset in 1819.

It would be great to hear from anyone that can link with me. The surnames of Stanley, Norton, Bluet, Smith are just a few surnames that are connected with my Skelton's. I think a few ended up in the Enfield, Middx area where I join the tree many years later as an Oakman.

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / Bailey or Bayley From Chester, Help Please
« on: Wednesday 19 October 05 02:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm really in need of some help in finding any information on my great grandmother.
According to her marriage certificate in 1867 (Enfield, Herts) it states that her name was Susan Bailey and that she was 20yrs old and was born in Chester in Cheshire.
Her dad is named as Edward Bayley a coachman. (This was a written certificate not a copy)

To add to the confusion, my grandad Thomas Oakman paid for her brother John Bailey (1833 - 1910) to be buried in Toxteth and the death certificate clearly states Bailey.

One of her daughters was given the middle name Bailey.....

If my grandmother was 20yrs old on her wedding day I'm really not sure, as each census gave her as a different age, sometimes her age jumped 20yrs. I think her dob is probably going to be 1837. Susan died in Enfield in 1922.

By rights she should be on the 1861 census but I can't find her.

If anyone could help me solve this mystery I have access to all the census from 1861 - 1901 and can probably help in return in some way. We have taken back our tree centuries in most directions and yet we can't find anything for my great grandmothers family except which I have shared with you here... and lots of photos if anyone else is related to her.

One Name Studies: N to S / Oakman, Okeman, Oakeman
« on: Tuesday 11 October 05 22:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm interested in hearing from anyone that is researching the Oakmans.

Our tree starts of with Alfred Okeman b 1525 Albury, Herts and over the generations the spelling changes to Oakeman and then Oakman.

Most members of the tree so far have been born Albury, Little Munden, Furneux Pelham and Standon all found in herts. later generations many were born in Enfield and Ponders End in my particular branch of the tree.

Very common names in the tree are Henry, William, Joseph, Edward, Thomas, Alfred, John, James, David, Mary, Ann, Eliza and Elizabeth and quite a few Sarah's both through birth and through marriage.
