If anyone would like a copy of their wedding record, please let me know and I'll happily share it with you.

Hi I seem to have accumalated quite a lot of records, photo's of headstones and burial records for the surname Martin as we have Martin's in our family but I'm sure all these people aren't going to be for my tree.

So if you want me to check to see if I have any of the Martin's that you are looking for, please do ask as I'm more than willing to share this information.

Most of the records I have are for St.James Church, Enfield Highway. All the burial records are direct from the parish records and give ages, abode and burial dates.

Many of the headstones mention other family members

I'm linked to the Martin's this way

Ethel May Smith married Sidney Martin in St. Andrews Church May 24th 1915. Ethel is my second cousin. Sidney died in Enfield 1931.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Hollingsworth Burials - Enfield
« on: Friday 16 June 06 22:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi I was at the London Metropolitan Archives today and whilst reading the Parish records for St. James Church, Enfield Highway, Enfield, Middlesex I came across this very sad record and thought I'd record it here for anyone that might have been looking for them.

Margaret Hollingsworth abode The Alma buried September 7th, 1873 age 27 years
Eliza Hollingsworth abode The Alma buried September 7th, 1873 age 19 days
Emma Hollingsworth abode The Alma buried September 7th, 1873 age 19 days

The Alma is a name of a public house if memory serves me right, if anyone needs me too, I could check this for you.

Broke my heart to read this, I can only presume it's a mother with her twin girls. I'd love to know if anyone does know what happened.

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Baptism Look Up Please - Downing and Bailey
« on: Tuesday 30 May 06 18:39 BST (UK)  »
Could someone please be kind and look to see if you can find a couple of baptism records for me pretty please

Elizabeth Jones Downing. According to the census she would have been born around 1799 in the Woodford area.

Edward Bailey or Bayley (on his daughter's marriage certificate, she is a Bailey and he is a Bayley). I have no idea of time, but I would presume it would be for about the same time as Elizabeth Downings as they married in Chester in 1836 (according to the IGI in St.Oswalds, Chester, Cheshire)

Any help at all would be fantastic

Lanarkshire / Gorbals Help Please
« on: Tuesday 30 May 06 18:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am hoping that someone may be able to help me, I am trying to trace down any information at all on my 3xgreat grandparents.

Charles Blewitt was in the 10th Hussars when he married Margaret Halls in the Gorbals in 1st February 1936. I have no idea as to where either were born or even their ages.

My great great great grandmother Frances Barker Blewitt was born in the schoolroom barracks, Regents Park in 1839 and this is the only other information that we have for them. Dad is clearly listed as being a private in the army but the other details aren't very clear as to regiment etc unlike on their wedding.

I am sure the 10th Hussars were in the Gorbals area at the time of the marriage as other soldiers from the 10th are listed on the printout of marriages for the same period.

Does anyone have any information that might help me as we have not been able to find any mention on them in any census paper, so I'm wondering if they might have returned to the Glasgow area.

Does anyone have any Halls in the Gorbals area at that time as I can only presume at the moment that Margaret would have come from that area.

Thanks for reading this, sorry couldn't give anymore information, I'm sure it would be easier to find a needle in a haystack.

Oh and there is no mention of a Charles Blewitt having been killed in service etc

Dorset Lookup Requests / Keturah Coles/ Alderholt
« on: Monday 28 November 05 01:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hi can anyone check for a baptism for Keturah Coles that was born according to all the census returns in Alderholt in approx 1803 please.

In all the census she is married to George Skilton of Salisbury, Wiltshire and a local paper in Salisbury says that he married a Keturah Coles of the High Street. So I can only presume that all the census returns are right and that she was born in Alderholt and later moved to Salisbury. What I am looking for is hopefully her parents names.

Thanks in advance
