Family History Beginners Board / Finding Emily Ricketts on 1911 census
« on: Saturday 08 October 16 15:24 BST (UK)  »
I have found Emily Statham Ricketts in all the records and even have her death certificate but I cannot find her on the 1911 census anywhere.  She was born 10th Jan 1863 in Saint Alkmund, Derbyshire, father was George Ricketts and mother Hannah Fletcher.  She was listed as living at the St Laurence Convent in Belper in the 1891 and 1901 census.  I have a newspaper article about her work as a Midwife.  Then lost all track of her until I think her death in 1936 in swindon, the only reason that I think this is her death is because the informant on the death certificate links in with her from Derbyshire.  I thought that I was never going to find anything else about her until the Welcome Library released the medical records.  There she was listed as living in the Convent in 1904 then in 1910 at Chapel Street Belper.

However when I have tried searching in the 1911 census for the address I still cannot find her listed as living there.

I have tried searching for all the Emily's only and then putting in Midwife but nothing comes up.

Any help gratefully recieved

Family History Beginners Board / Marriage of Samuel Hall
« on: Monday 25 April 16 21:22 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find the marriage of Samuel Hall, he was born in Heage and baptised in Duffield 1814 , parents Patrick and Sarah Hall.
I have him married in the 1841 census to an Eliza.  Then in 1851 he is living with his father in law Geo (surname  transcribed as Heart incorrect, I think).  I do not know his wife's maiden name and cannot find a marriage.  His son Joseph is aged 4 in 1841 so I am thinking they married about 1837.  Can anyone help. ::)

Family History Beginners Board / Ancestor transported to Australia
« on: Sunday 21 February 16 20:06 GMT (UK)  »
I have come across an ancestor Patrick Hall who was a School Master in Derbyshire - He married in about 1806 and had two children with his wife Sarah.  In 1817 Sarah gave birth to a daughter and both died.  I have come across a Patrick Hall of Horsley School Master being convicted and transported to Australia in 1829 for 7 years.  There is also a newspaper article about his crime.  My question is how do I now go about confirming and getting more information on this.  Many thanks  :)

Family History Beginners Board / 1891 census help for George Ricketts
« on: Tuesday 19 January 16 16:34 GMT (UK)  »
I know that the 1891 census was taken on 5th April, my ancestor George Ricketts was a visitor at Formosa Street London at the time.  However I also have a George Ricketts in the infirmary from 4th April - 23rd April 1891.  Does this mean the infirmary one is not my relative!!?

Also I am still struggling to find George Ricketts in the 1871 census.  He was born St Marylebone 1821 and his occupation was either a Servant/Butler or he worked also on the Railways.  any help would be gratefully received.
