Cheshire / Thomas Mitchell Inmate

I have a Thomas Mitchell born 1886 Widnes. I think I may have found him on the 1901 census, but with a birth date of approx 1882. This would make him 19 at the time of the census but he was not. I have been told by a few researchers that this was common. On the census he is an inmate in St Stephens's Bury. Can anybody tell me what institution this was, i.e. a prison or hospital and how I could find any information about that.

Hello All,

Looking for any information about the following:

Thomas Mitchell b approx 1886 married Ada Hunt b 1896 Widnes.
Ada was the daughter of Gertrude Edwardson and George Hunt. I have quite a lot of info on the Hunt's and Edwardson's but cannot find a thing for Thomas Mitchell....unfortunately it's such a common name with so many Thomas's around at the time.

I know Thomas (known as Tom) and Ada married in Chorlton, Lancashire approx 1916. They had three children:
Timothy b 1916 Widnes married Gertrude Harris
Frances b 1918 Widnes married Tom (Thomas) Cathon
Gertrude b 1924 Widnes married Jack Wilson

I believe that Tom died in about 1938, again I cannot find anything reflecting his death. Ada remarried Jack (possibly John) Patterson around 1942/3. If I ordered the marriage certificate of Thomas and Ada, would it state who thomas's father was?

If anybody can help in anyway, I would really appreciate it. I am stuck and frustrated.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Marriage Look-Up Please: HUNT m MITCHELL

Hi there,
I am looking for the marriage of my great grandparents, THOMAS MITCHELL b 1886 Liverpool and ADA HUNT b 1896 Widnes. As far as I know they were married in Chorlton, Lancashire. I know that the Mitchell's were Catholic.

THOMAS died quite young about 1938, but I also cannot find any death registration. As far as I have been told he died in Widnes.

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Charles Wilson

Hi, I have a Charles Wilson on the 1841 census. He was born 1831 Bunbury, and on the 1841 census was with paretns Robert and Elizabeth.
Can anyone find him on the 1851 census? Any help would be great as I cannot find him and am hitting brick walls.

Cheshire / Festival Queen - Widnes 1950's

Hi, I have found several photographs of my mother at about age 4 when she was crowned Festival Queen. She was born in 1946, so this would make it around 1950.
She is seen on a float with a crown. They came from Widnes and upon asking was told they lived HoughGreen?

Is that in Widnes. I seem to recall an address also be Macefield Avenue.
Any help?

I have an Elizabeth Whittingham b 1785, Norbury married 1808 St Boniface Bunbury to Robert Wilson b 1778 Tattenhall.
Can anyone shed light on how to trace Elizabeth's father and mother

Hi,
I have a marriage of Thomas Wilson marries Emma Wilson, 1841, St Boniface, Bunbury.I'm not sure as to the month of the marriage, but can somebody check the 1841 census please.

Emma is daughter of Thomas (b 1782) and Elizabeth (nee Morrey). Her birth date was c.1823.
I am especially interested in Thomas and his parents/siblings.

I have found a Thomas b.1818 Bunbury and was wondering if this was the same person.

Hi there,

I'm stuck and looking for help. $:-\$

On the 1851 census for Beeston, Bunbury, Cheshire I have JOHN CRANK b.1821 Duddon, listed as the son-in-law of Robert b.1778 Wilson and Elizabeth b.1785.

There is no wife/daughter listed. I have then found the marriage of John Crank to Martha Wilson in St John, Chester in 1844.

This is followed by a death of Martha Crank in September 1845, Nantwich.

I am assuming that Martha was the daughter and died soon after marriage.

Can anyone please help to find Martha Wilson in 1841. I would think that she was born around 1827, give or take a bit. I have her brother Robert born 1811, Beeston, Bunbury.

Any help would be most welcome!!!
