Hi as I mentioned, I haven't found 1901 yet. 1911
Cape Breton North, Victoria district 13 p 30 has James b Feb 1901, Samuel b Mar 1906 and Catherine b May 1907. Also m-in-law Catherine April 1841 can't make out the name, starts with B, so would be Boultilier if ancestry is right.

Ann Nicholson was born on Pei.

No , I do not know the parents names. I have several census entries for each with all their families from 1881 and on. I was told they came from Isle of Skye in 1858. I was also told they were brothers, but have not confirmed that yet. I would feel better if the other name was Murdoch and not Munro.
The reason I am interested in these men is my grfathers - gRmother Ann Nicholson was married to Roderick McKenzie. She lived near these "brothers" in 1881 and 1891 but the strange thing is Roderick was not in the house with her, the census does not say Widow for either year. She later moved to New Jersey to live with her daughter

Hi,
I'm looking for Mckenzies who left Scotland in 1858 and settled the same area of Prince Edward Island. They are all listed together on the Canada 1881 census Murdoch 49, Norman 47, Malcolm 37, Donald 40. It is believed they are brothers. They may have left Scotland with Alexander McLure and Catherine McDonald who also arrived 1858.
Thankyou,
Rod McLure

« on: Saturday 27 December 14 14:01 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I am trying to connect Janet Mckenzie m. Angus McRae Jun 8 1819 in Applecross, d. Wheatly River, PEI Canada to Annabella McKenzie m Angus McLure in Scotland. My grgrandfather - Annabella's grandson Roderick Mclure is said to have married a "cousin".He m. Elizabeth McRae, Janet's daughter, so I am wondering how they were cousins. Were Janet and Annabella sisters?
Thanks
