Hello
Lovely to hear from you. Could you tell me more about your family? Places, names, dates etc.
I have not come across a Hanby but then I wasn't looking for one!
Regards
Barbara

Thank you very much for your interest. I am sure about my info and really need help tracing this John's father John, who was baptised in Coreley, Shropshire in 1841. His mother was Susan, who I have been unable to trace before or after the event. I wonder if she was a single mum who did not live for much longer, as she does not seem to exist anywhere else.

Hi Trish

Thanks alot for your help again.
The nearest centre to me is about 15 miles away and is temporarily closed. I will definitely bear it in mind at a later date. It sounds really good.

I think I have gone completely wrong in my enthusiasm regarding my great grandfather William.

I am going to have to start again with my mother's grandfather William E Parker , born in Willenhall, Staffs in 1867.He seems to be listed on 1881 census, with his gran Mary and his uncles George and Thomas, and Thomas's family, wife Elizabeth Hulme and son also William Parker age 1 born in Burslem, Staffs.
I have now drawn a blank regarding William E's parentageand siblings.
Any advice please.

Thanks Trish and Philip.
The replies were interesting.
Does it cost to check records at LDS?
Unfortunately I am unable to work due to health problems so can not afford to spend much on this my new hobby.I am really enjoying hearing from new people and discovering facts about my ancestors.
Thanks again

Shropshire / HANLEY Salop baptism
« on: Thursday 10 November 05 15:06 GMT (UK)  »
My great grandfather John Hanley was baptised in Coreley, Salop 15 Aug 1841.
Have been unable to print off a copy of page someone sent to me, but John seems to have been the only child baptised with only one parent named ie Susan Hanley.
Does that mean she was not married and I should be looking for using Hanley as her maiden name?

Thanks alot Mary.
Do you know what a Charter Master was?
I would have assumed it was to do with boats, but there are not any in Willenhall.
