I did eliminate the Dye marriage from contention because Joseph (not John) is living with his grandparents (maternal) in both the 1861 census as well as the 1871 census (which is the last census before he marries at age 16 in '72).
I already have the birth registration of Joseph (her son) and he was born in Aug 1855, so even if they put "John" in error the birth info didn't line up.
I also eliminated the Dye marriage because Mary Ann was born Trewick and a minor consideration is that the surname is listed as "Gill" rather than "Gills" (Which I know could be an error in the document and I wouldn't be hung up on if the rest of the information fit).
