Hi Audrey,
I have just come across these messages.
Would it be possible for you to look up the marriage of Jesse Warhurst and Charlotte Smith on 6th July 1848 at Manchester Cathedral?
Thanks
Pippa

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: 1861 Census, Manchester - Warhurst

Oops, I put 1861 in the title and 1871 in the message! Either record will be very helpful. Husband Jesse Warhurst should be head of the household in 1861.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1861 Census, Manchester - Warhurst
« on: Wednesday 02 February 05 13:54 GMT (UK)  »
I would be grateful if somebody could look up the details of Charlotte Warhurst and family on the 1871 Census. She was probably a widow (I think her husband died in 1870). It is possible she lived at 51 Worsley Street, as daughter Elizabeth was married from there in 1878. But I believe there were several Worsley Streets in the Manchester area. The wedding took place at St Georges church if that is of any help.
Thanks

Lancashire Lookup Requests / St Nicholas Church, Liverpool, Marriage of Ruscoe & Dutton
« on: Tuesday 01 February 05 00:43 GMT (UK)  »
Could anyone look up the marriage details of Thomas Ruscoe and Ann Dutton, who were married at St Nicholas Church, Liverpool 24th February 1840? I have found the IGI record and now I'm looking for more information which might be on the parish records, such as the father's name and Thomas's occupation etc.
Thank you
Pippa

Devon Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 Census - Brewers from Witheridge
« on: Friday 08 October 04 14:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am looking for information regarding John Brewer, believed to be born in 1824, parents possibly John and Mary Brewer. He was born in Witheridge. He moved to Cornwall so doesn't appear on the 1851 Devon census, but hopefully he's on the 1841 census. Can anyone help?

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage in Chippenham - Tregenza/Downing
« on: Thursday 30 September 04 13:52 BST (UK)  »
Thank you Nicky and Little Nell for your replies.

Joseph Tregenza did come from Cornwall, and I have found all the information regarding Joseph and Ann's children - all born in Cornwall, so they did return there.
I did consider that Joseph's mother's maiden name might be Sibley, but I have found via the IGI that there was a family of Tregenzas at St Mewan, Cornwall (which is where Joseph returned to), with a son called Joseph whose age matches up with my relative, but the mother's maiden name was Couch or Cooch. I didn't know about the John Tregenza marriage in Corsham, something to look into, thank you for that.
I can find no information at all on Ann Downing, just thought someone might be able to guide me. I have found most of my information via various internet sites - Cornwall is particularly well served - but there doesn't seem to be much about Wiltshire.
There is a romantic tale passed down through the family that a younger daughter of the Earl of Bath of the time, eloped with one of the grooms - my relative. It is interesting that the above couple married in Chippenham, which I believe is not far from Longleat, and that Ann was born in Chippenham. However, I think that, if this tale is true, it is more likely to have been one of the house servants of Longleat that eloped by jumping out the window in the dead of night, not a member of the Bath family!

By the way, what is the BVRI2?

Thank you again for your replies.

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Marriage in Chippenham - Tregenza/Downing
« on: Wednesday 29 September 04 13:04 BST (UK)  »
Can anybody look up the marriage of Joseph Tregenza and Ann Downing in Chippenham for me? I believe they were married on 22nd September 1818. I would like to know the further details in the marriage register - i.e. occupations and father's names.
Also I would like to know more about Ann Downing. I know she was born in Chippenham about 1795. Can anyone help me with this?
