Not heard of the Maginon scanner but at just £14 it sounds a bargain! I finally decided to buy a Veho VFS-008 Smartfix Slide & Negative Scanner. It was £50 from Amazon but I am very pleased with it. Scans a 35mm slide in just 4 seconds and the quality and colour balance is very good. It also scans 110mm film negatives which is a bonus. It scans directly to the supplied 2GB SD card so it's simple to transfer the scans to computer in large batches. My only niggle is that it's slightly fiddly to load the slide tray (it takes 3 at a time) but for speed and quality of scanning it's excellent. It has a 2.4 inch preview LCD screen and rechargeable battery. :)

Thank you for that Peter. Excellent news. There appears to be a centre about 15 miles away from where I live. Onwards... :)

Thanks again

Kent Lookup Requests / Minster in Sheppey marriage 1819 - FREED / BATES
« on: Thursday 16 April 15 06:02 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have access to the Minster in Sheppey marriage registers please? I am interested in the marriage of Henry FREED to Mary Ann BATES which took place there on 14th June 1819. I am told that there is a note written in the register's margin next to this marriage and I am hoping this note will lend a clue to Mary Ann's origins. The note does not appear in any transcripts of the register.
Thank you so much.
Graham :)

Carol that is beautiful. I love the gentle way you've brought the figures out of the faded depths. Wonderful stuff. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much PhotoFX (I'm sorry I don't know your name). A very sympathetic restoration with a lovely wistful look about it. Yes please, I'd very much like a copy at original size. I will message you. Graham :)

A lovely effect Pat. Thank you. You've certainly brought them out of the gloom and back into the light. Very striking! Nice to see some of the detail at last. Thank you :)
