I can't believe it I followed your lead and Icame up with my grandfathers sister Agnes bornDec221877 in Antrim no mention of my grandfather William Scott Mulcahy   born1883 on the cen1891  living in Birkenhead and states Ireland as Birthplace. At least now I know my g/gmother was an Agnes Scott. At last I'm moving forward  thank you.My g/gfather was born in cork 1845 and he joined the army in 1865 left 10 yrs later 47th foot reg joined in Carrickaline now I need to know where in Cork he was born   Thanks Again  Bernadine

Hello list I do hope somebody can help me I was going through some old stuff of my Mothers and I found an old parchment that appears to be her G/fathers discharge papers from the 47th foot reg! never even knew he came from Ireland his name WILLIAM MULCAHY born1844 it states (very worn and feint) that he joined in Carrickaline and I think he was born in Ballisneastor?.He was in the army 10yrs1Day have written to the reg and paid £20 but only got back some info on the reg as a reg.I know that he married a lady named Agnes(no surname) they had 2 kids Agnes and my g/father William Scott MulcahyI wonder if his mother was a Scott?They where all born in Ireland how can I trace them.I know they where living in Birkenhead(merseyside)in the 1891 cen he was down as a landscape grd All help appreciated   thanks Bernadine
