I am not positive this was her husband, but did have a divorced wife named Margaret. However, this man died in St. Louis, MO. Did your Margaret ever live there?
If you can get her death certificate, it should tell about her burial/cremation.

I wonder if Margaret may have married again? According to death certificate of Acie Calvin Kenyon, he and wife Margaret were divorced. Hard to find her burial without correct surname.

Evidently the John Doughty you mentioned married an Elizabeth LaFever about 1778 in New Jersey. Son James was mentioned as the "first child" in the info I saw from Family Treemaker.

They are married before June 4, 1860 when the census was taken. They are in Philadelphia, living in household of Joseph Thomson. Also in house is presumably another brother, Robert Thomson, his wife and child.

There is one entry on WorldConnect (google it) which says Emeline's parents are Joseph, born 25 September 1778, Exeter, RI, and Amelia Babcock, born Dec 1785, Berlin, NY. Always check for sources.

Try WorldConnect site for a Joshua Swinerton. He is listed as having a daughter Hannah, but not much info on her.
