New Zealand Completed Requests / Death Registration for Someone Hanged..
« on: Sunday 11 March 12 10:28 GMT (UK)  »
I know this is possibly a distasteful subject and apologise if it offends anyone, but am trying to prove or disprove a connection with someone who was hanged, in NZ in 1858.  The only information I have I collected by doing a Google search on the name.  I cannot find him in the death registrations.

JOHN KILLEY - New Zealand
Killey, John, Pte dis, ch murder Ak 27 12 57

The sentence was carried out in 1858.

I am trying to find a certified record so I can check his ancestry.

Many thanks for that.  I have sent an email with all the relevant information.  I don't have the actual death certificate but when I did, I scanned it and I still have the file.

If anyone is visiting Vestry House Museum would they do a burial look up for me?

My great grandmother, Mary Purchase, died in the Jul/Aug/Sep Quarter of 1904.  She died in Northbank Road, Walthamstow and was aged 39.  She had Plithisis (pulmonary tuberculosis).

If anyone can do that it would be much appreciated.

The 1911 census reveals the father of Leslye Edward Brown as Edward Brown, Shipwright - Ship Builders, aged 25, born Sunderland, Durham.  The mother is Edith Brown (maiden name unknown as yet), aged 23, born Great Ayton, Yorkshire.  There is also a sister shown, Edith Emma, aged 1, born Portsmouth, Hampshire.  The lived in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

I spoke to grump's wife this morning and gave her the information.

I have a connection with this family..

Alfred J Rayment who was aged 5 on the 1881 census.  The son of Josiah Rayment and Emma nee Drew.  Alfred married Miriam Lillian Dellow and her father's name was given as Frank Dellow.  I cannot find a record of this particular Miriam Lillian Dellow with regards to a birth or baptism.

One of the sons of Alfred and Miriam, Leonard Arnold Rayment, married my mother's cousin, Ethel - known as Joyce - Goddard.  They divorced and he married again.

Is anyone able to help with background on the family? I am helping their descendant to build up a picture for her descendants.

I am one of the Kiwi contingent on RC and definitely a 'she'.

I have posted many times looking for information on this family as I do have a connection with them having known them since the early 1970's.  If I wave and say "Hiya, it's Linda!" Then am sure they will make the connection.

For all those who have helped or taken an interest in this search, my grateful thanks.  I have had my first meeting and am pleased to say it was a very positive encounter for us.

Looking for information on LESLYE EDWARD BROWN.  Leslye is probably an unusual spelling, but it is the one found on a marriage certificate and on the birth record.  He was born 1910/11 in Portsmouth, Hampshire.  His father's name is Edward.  He was in the Air Force.

I have checked the marriage index and found he married Doris Daye.  The marriage was short lived so he may have married again.  Possibly and by no means certain, to someone called Brenda.
