Oxfordshire / Re: Jane Cook Marries Thomas Simons 1776

Many thanks Colin.   I'll  look into those.  I do see on further research that Ann and John Cook also had a Mary Cook baptised in 1750 !!!  Just maybe I have wrong parents for my Mary!!  I know the trail down from her is correct though.
The possibilty arises now that Jane c 1754 and Mary c 1750 are sisters with the same parents!!
The joys of research from afar.

Thanks for replies.
Its looking likely that  my Jane born 1736 did not marry Thomas Simons as she would have been 61yrs when her last child was born and 88yrs if she died in 1824.  I also don't think there would have been a 20yr age gap between Jane and Thomas. If he had been the elder then yes but Jane being 20yrs older than him in the 1700's, no !!
It's looking more like a Jane Cook born 1754 to Ann and John Cook could be the one married to Thomas Simons and from whom my DNA match possibly comes from.
I now need to see if my Thomas Cook born about 1715 or so had a brother John as that could explain my DNA match or even that she doesn't match me on this line at all and i need to look at other options.

Unfortunately not.  I have a baptism date of 17 Jan 1736 and marriage date of 20 Oct 1776. Other trees have a death date of 1824 but not one of them has a source and I cant find one on Ancestry.
Thanks for replying.

Oxfordshire / Jane Cook Marries Thomas Simons 1776

Hi, I am just trying to prove the birth year for Jane Cook who marries Thomas Simons (born 1751) in Kiddington on 20 Oct 1776.   Her parents are supposed to be Thomas Cook and Martha Cleaver who married in 1735 and both born about 1715.
The quandry I have is that others have Jane being born in 1736. if this is correct she would have been 40 at the time of her marriage and Thomas Simons her husband would have been 25. Is this likely??  Or could this Jane have died and another child also named Jane born later be the one that married Thomas.
I have looked to the best of my ability but cant see anything to confirm or rule out this.

My line is from Martha and Thomas Cook's daughter Mary born 1750 who marries John Powell.
I also found another daughter Elizabeth born 1747 but I havent followed her line as yet.

I would love your thoughts on this or point me to where else I can look, bearing in mind I am in New Zealand.
Many thanks

Thank you for that.
I am unsure about the John born 1811 but will check it out.  If it is correct Dinah would have been only 15yrs as she was born in 1796. The above links  only have records for John.
Sarah Jacobs born 1816 is the daughter of Dinah Jnr. She was born before her mother married a Richard Smith in 1817. Her father is unknown.  After Richard dies Dinah marries Daniel Bohey.

I have a Dinah Jacobs my 4 x great grandmother, born and baptised in 21 Feb 1796 in Odiham, Hampshire.  Her parents are listed as Dinah and Thomas Jacobs.
I have  Dinahs (daughter) information coming forward but I am stuck on her parents so I am looking for both of them, their births and marriage and deaths and any other children they may of had.  I know this is a big ask but being in NZ I am limited to what I can online.
Many thanks in Advance to anyone who can help.
