Lancashire / Re: James Walker Lived 80A Boundary lane
« on: Thursday 20 April 06 00:11 BST (UK)  »
Hiya,
It was demolished in the 1960's I think, or maybe early 1970's.
St Michaels Church is still there and so is Ogdens which was the tobacco factory, I'm not sure if Ogdens is still producing though.
I know that there were alot of photos taken of Liverpool before they demolished the area, and there may be some in the Archive Room at the record office, I got some of the house and street where I lived in the 60's.
I think they were taken by the City Planners.
You can contact the record office to find out if they actually have anything but it might take them a bit of time to find out as they are really busy there at the moment.
I won't be able to get there for a while myself, but if you haven't had any luck by the time I go I'll have a look for you.

The telephone number is
0151 233 5811
and the e-mail address is
RecOffice.central.library [at] Liverpool.gov.uk
Good luck!

If you e-mail Liverpool record office they will do a free 15 minute search for you.
Don't know how long the waiting time is at the moment but you can also phone them and find out.
Telephone number is 0151 233 5811
e-mail is

RecOffice.central.library [at] Liverpool.gov.uk

As you probably know there isn't alot of info on the earlier certificates, but it's nice to have a copy of them anyway.
Good luck!

It would probably have been Anfield Cemetery, it is only about a 15/ 20 minute walk from Boundary Lane.

Lancashire / Re: Where would they be buried? Price family Liverpool

If you do have to go and visit Anfield cemetery, there is a chap who used to work there, but still visits the cemetery each day and is always happy to help anyone who is looking for a grave.
In some of the sections the numbers don't follow on as they should and if there's no headstone on it can be a bit of a problem finding exactly what you are looking for.
His name is Bob Halliday.
Good luck!

Thanks Phil, didn't think there would be anything.
If you need anything checking in Liverpool anytime, let me know so I can return the favour. Good luck with your searches.

Thank you for that. Is there no occupation given for William Shewan? I was hoping to confirm connection to my William via his occupation.

Lancashire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: A Liverpool Records Office Visit soon?

telephone number is 0151 233 5817 and e-mail is
RecOffice.central.library@liverpool.gov.uk.
If I wasn't so busy I'd get it for you myself, but I don't even have time to visit there myself lately.
Make sure you put the whole address in, some people left off the RecOffice bit and their e-mails didn't get through.
Actually I would try phoning them first.
good luck!

Liverpool record office will do a free 15 minute search for you.
I'm not sure how long they are taking to deal with enquiries at the moment but you can e-mail them with all the details you have.
They have the marriages for St Nicks on microfilm. Might be worth getting them to check for you rather than sending off for a certificate which may be the wrong one.
Are you anywhere near Liverpool?

Hi, Is there anybody who could do a couple of lookups in Sculcoates and Kingston upon Hull please?
Catherine Shewin baptised 25th August 1823 at St Marys Kingston upon Hull
parents are listed as William Shewin and Catherine.
Also marriage of William Shewan and Catherine Hase 25th February 1817 at Sculcoates.
As there are two different spellings of the surname, I would like to check them out just to be sure.
Many thanks .
