Rosie, it is a chance in a million we find something from a direct ancestor, but I struck gold with this.
If you google Whittenbury & Hydrophobia in books it is a great short read :)

No sadly not, but there may be a reason!
When he signed the will 11 years later he was very agitated & was dying of Hydrophobia he was told to make the will by the doctor in attendance :'(

Hi would someone have access to an image of the marriage of John Wittenbury (Whittenbury) to Mary Guyon in 1802 St Sepulchre?
I fully understand with copy write you cant post the image on here, I was wondering if you could compare the signature to the one that is on it?
Many thanks

Hi Lizzie yes, since then I have connected the 3 as brothers are defiantly brothers. I forgot all about that post.
I have been stuck on my James for well over 30 years now. I ordered John's will 1813 years ago which they sent, it was only last week when I was looking at it again on ancestry that I accidentally clicked the next button instead of enlarging it and WOW :D not only did my James sign it it showed he lived in Deptford that I already knew :)

So having a fresh look at things now

Ware Parish Registers have been deposited at Hertfordshire Record Office, Hertford.

Also:
FamilySearch.org
Society of Genealogists

Wareside baptisms started in 1841

Thank you it was pre 1800 I was interested in so was Ware the main parish before Wareside?

Would any one know if the parishes of Ware or Wareside have ever been transcribed?
I am looking for Bapt for 1760 - 1790
I know My John Whittenbury was the Miller in Edmonton, but another document came up suggesting from Wareside.
Many Thanks

Hi Lillygirl
Reading this thread I found fascinating.
Are you related To Benjamin?
I am bored so started doing other Whittenbury trees so one day I will find the link in about 1760-1790. They all seem to block that date.
Another reason I am interested in Benjamin is in the 1840s they lived in Lee in Lewisham where 3 more of their babies are buried, my line lived in Lewisham the same time. :)

The Common Room / Re: Walter James Allen 1906-1954

If they are still alive, please don’t name them.
The name was none of those - perhaps a brother to Walter but as long as you have the right family.
Hopefully, you can now send off for Walter's record.
Best wishes
Eeeks didn't think of that, I have edited it. What was the other name on there? it is sad of what happened to him his son was only young when he died. The problem with the Army records is they need service number, but there are about 5 with the same name that I have found, I have eliminated 2 that were KIA but the others I am not sure about.
If you have exact date of birth then you don't need service number. So birth certificate might be the way forward
Thank You :)
