Norfolk Lookup Requests / Eliza Hogg b1859 Norwich, Norfolk.
« on: Monday 03 December 18 15:15 GMT (UK)  »
A bit confused,  Eliza Hogg is my Husbands Great Gran,  we have her down with Charles Codling in Norfolk in 1891 census,  since found that it appears she has been married before,  if I am correct I found a marriage in 1877 Norwich, Norfolk to George Smith,  but but what is a bit of a mystery is she is on 1881 Census in Norwich, Norfolk with children and a William Smith,  Im sure it is her as in 1891 census with Charles Codling the children are with her. I have a Birth Cert of Isaac Smith and father is George Smith.  If anyone can find anything else it would be very much appreciated,  I cannot find a marriage to a William Smith neither can I find a Marriage to Charles Codling.

Essex Lookup Requests / William Smith possible breakthrough.
« on: Friday 19 October 18 20:25 BST (UK)  »
I have posted several times before re William Smith b1891/1892,  its hubbies Grandad who went missing in 1933.  We know little about William other than his Dad was George and details of his marriage to hubbies Gran Doris Mabel Wilding in 1916.

Well I may or may not have had a bit of a breakthrough of sorts,   Williams eldest son (hubbies Dads brother) William James Smith b1919 East Ham, Essex left his wife and I have found him in the 1939 register living in West Ham,  Essex (It is definitely him as birth date matches) living with a George Smith b29/11/1892,  Caroline M Smith b 30/10/1922 and Lilian S Smith b 23/10/1919, presume these may be Georges Daughters.  George may be William Seniors Brother or Cousin  but as still dont know where they originate from Im stuck and dont know which way to go,  can anyone help or advise please.

Travelling People / William Smith b1891/92
« on: Sunday 23 September 18 15:29 BST (UK)  »
I have put several posts re William Smith b1892,  but it has come to light via contact with a few Matches on Ancestry DNA there could well be Romany Gypsy connections somewhere along the line.

William is my hubby Grandfather,  we know very little re the Smith side other than his Dad was George,  dont know where born etc but William lived in East Ham, Essex with his wife and children up until he left in 1933.

Because we know very little, but lots have tried to help,  its difficult to say where Hubby connects/links with his DNA Matches.

I believe Romanies did often use Smith as an alternate name,  if anyone can through any light on this it may help.

Many thank
