To Jm,Well I think I am SENSIBLE enough to check out everything I can before I receive quality help from the board,...in fact I do work backwards in my research!
If you like to look, my heading states birthdates and marriage of Mary May's parents and Augustus is not listed as being born in NSW[I got  my birth info from Family Search!]..and with the name Mary Mcdonough ,how many ways can you spell it!...MEDUSA

I am trying to find some background ie Father/Mother if possible...They had a daughter Mary May Cooper b1880 NSW who married a Isaac SMALL in about 1896 in NSW...MEDUSA

Well now that is settled I am pleased to inform all my followers that I have obtained Victorian Birth/Death certificates....free of charge....been told their is no one of the name MARY ANN TOWNSEND but ELIZA  and I could AMEND the mistake if I wanted to!
Eliza TOWNSEND's [Mother]death showed no name for her Mother and only the surname for the father..MORTIMER....we might do this again sometime?...adios MEDUSA

cando reply 4.."Please dont pay for searches on Vic BDM"
If you want appreciation please read my replies properly.
"I said Henry MIGHT give particulars"
Sue,               If Iwas'nt serious I would not be chasing this prooblem for the last two years or be
going to and fro with the volunteers...and UNSUBSTANTIATED is what we "all" have
                      been talking about,have'nt we/...MEDUSA ??? ::) :-*

To cando,
My silly statement was in reply to your one after you knew that the baby was buried after the mother...also my statement did say that the father might have given the particulars ,gee he would be an informant!
I wonder what my original question was?...that was 6pages ago and I feel like I am back at school because I dont do what the teacher says!
Most of the replies have been are unsubstantiated and as I said early in my quest there are so many scenarios to ELIZA [whoops upper case!]...MEDUSA

Hi Sue,if youn are as keen as I am you trawl[love that word] through the reords of births for 1855 for Tasmania and fathers occupation usually pops up....cando Reply #27..The mother was buried 4 days before her daughter so she was not able to fill in any forms...maybe Henry...and have received many certificates and not all are true and when it comes to building a tree I am very sure I am correct!

To JM,I was using an example to respond to Sue's question [no 30] regarding the different spellings of surnames and I mentioned my great great grandmother's aliases also Henry TOWNSEND[spelt TOWNEND] when convicted.
To cando,I believe I have mentioned that there a lot of possible scenarios to Eliza's life which can lead to a merry chase...possible Shoemaker could be Schoolmaster,as I said previously I even checked off every Shoe/boot maker regardless of their name for 1855 to see if there was a connection!
I requested some help/advice a few days ago on Eliza's birth but I seem to have to explain myself every thread....I have been on other ROOTCHAT sites and have found them most enjoyable as
there was no dressing down  about date mishap on a burial 1/7/1874 instead of 11/7/1874... I believe you sent a post with the name Eliza GARRETT which sent me on my merry way searching till you AMENDED it and does it really matter if I "uppercase " a christian name.

Yes Sue,I do understand and if you read my thread again you will see that I mentioned my great great grandmother[Henry 's mum] surname was MCNEILLY MCNALLY MCNALLEY MCNULLEY and MACANNALY...christian names were Rosetta Rosina Roseanna and Rose and as I have 5convicts in the family I worked that out a long time ago...Henry Townsend[senior] is TOWNEND in his convict file.
I do realise there was a female MORTIMER in cando's list b 1862 which would have made her 10 at her wedding?....Medusa
