Worcestershire / Jospeh Parkes of Rowley Regis
« on: Tuesday 22 March 16 12:14 GMT (UK)  »
in Walsall parish population census,

Joseph is age 15. His father is also Joseph (39), mother Jane (31, sister Eliza (10), brother Samuel (2).

Both Josephs' occupation were Pudler.

All (except Samuel) were recorded born in Rowley Regis.

Unable to trace 1861 population census for them.

Unable to trace birth certificate for Joseph Parkes born circa 1856.

Can anyone help?

Thanking you all for your replies in advance.

Chris

This marriage was solemnized between us (signature of James Heppenstall and the mark of Catharine Corbett

In the presence of

John White
Sopia Sleight
NEWARK St Mary Magdalene:  1832 12 05   Catherine   HEPPENSTALL   age 64   abode Newark

Nottinghamshire / Catharine Corbett - Thurlby?
« on: Wednesday 15 July 15 12:06 BST (UK)  »
I am stumped.

My ancestor married Catharine Corbett in 1799 as detailed below:

Marriage to Catharine Corbett (wid.)
1799
20 Nov
Thurlby By Newark, Lincolnshire, England

I visited St Germain's in Thurlby hoping to find some family clues wrt Catharine and found none. No family graves etc.

However if she married my ancestor using her deceased husband's name, then what is her maiden name?

Assumed to be born in either Lincoln or Newark On Trent in 1778, that's all the information I have on her.

Can anyone help solve the mystery surrounding her?

Thanking you in advance,

Chris

Northamptonshire / BELLOME/BELLAMY of Glapthorn(e)???
« on: Thursday 02 July 15 11:40 BST (UK)  »
I have this information:

Samuel Bellamy of Glapthorne married Ann Spensor in 1708 at Sawtry All Saints (Huntingdonshire).

It's recorded as Samuel Bellome of Glapthorne in the marriage records.

Is anyone able to help me find his baptism record for Samuel Bellome/Bellamy of Glapthorn?

the following families I am interested are:

Spensor/Spencer/Spenser
Veare

and the following individuals I have on my family tree are:

Christopher Spensor b. 1662 - d. 12/6/1715, his wife Ann Veare b. 1662 - d. 3/4/1715

their children Anna Spensor b. 10/2/1686 and Thomas Spensor b. 1690.

As far as I know they all were born in Sawtry, the parents are assumed to be born and buried in Sawtry.

I have no further details to their children being born in Sawtry and their burial place.

I hope someone is able to confirm.

I am also interested to find out the parents of Christopher Spensor and Ann Veare are.... this is a dead end on my family tree.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
