Thanks for your replies ,
As far as I have found out Prestwich records prior to 1868 when they built a new workhouse ,were destroyed.Also haven't tracked down the correct birth cert yet.Mary Ann has no father on her marriage certificate so probablly mother was unmarried.
Do you know who would give her permission to get married as she was under 21 and would this be recorded anywhere ?
Butterworth would be a possibility as I think it's part of Milnrow .
