The Stay Safe Board / Re: National Theatre streaming plays during lockdown

My daughter told me about this and suggested that I watched it so that we actually had something to talk about when we Skype each other. I moved the computer so that I could watch from my armchair and didn't stop laughing.

Supermarket had run out of my usual coffee and wasn't impressed by the one I had bought instead when I opened the new packed at breakfast. Some good classic comedy on 4 Extra though - ISIRTA from 1966. Lovely scene with Jo Kendall and Tom Brooke-Taylor reading four parts between them and ending in total collapse. I remember going to some of the recordings, they didn't re-record to cover anything fluffed.

My doctor wouldn't let me order a repeat prescription far enough in advance to restrict myself to one trip this week so in a queue outside Boots this morning. Tweeted a photo to show that I was respecting the marked waiting points.

Decided to pick up a couple of items which would put off the next shopping trip by a few days. Health food shop and Polish shop both closed. Supermarkets both had 30 minute plus queues.

Did a little weeding in the garden. At least the weeds can all go on the compost heap. Wondering how long I can put off trimming the front hedge as don't have much space for storring woody waste. Smell of burning plastic later in the afternoon suggested that somebody was disposing of uncollected "recycling" in an inappropriate manner.

Aberdeenshire / Re: Meaning of cousin late 1800's in Aberdeen
« on: Thursday 26 March 20 10:45 GMT (UK)  »
In large extended families "cousin", "aunt" and "uncle" were often pretty loose terms.

In SWMBOs line with large extended families, and wide age spreads among half siblings, we know form her mother that "cousin" was generally used for relatives of similar age even when they were technically aunts or uncles.

Even now my cousins once removed call me "uncle".

Is GDPR compliance an issue?

If not then just use the spreadsheet of your choice.

At least two weeks to late but better late than not at all.

Been online to shop, no delivery slots, no click and collect slots.

Sainsbury’s impossible to contact to register as being self isolating due to health issues

And now Boris orders total lockdown so even less chance of this pair of 70 plussers getting groceries delivered.

Will have to risk going in person during one of the oldies sessions.
Registered on three sites, two have no delivery slots available and one making slots for next week available on Wednesday (setting my alarm for that).

Have to get the car MOTd by next week. While I agree with closing cafes and pubs in theory I will seriously miss having somewhere to sit with a drink or snack.

I am in photos with two of my g grandparents but as they died when I was 4 I can't say that I knew them.

One thing that had never struck me until I got in touch with a second cousin through Ancestry was how little contact I had had with my father's extended family. I have no idea why but my father seemed determined to break off contact with all but his sister. I didn't realise this until after both my parents had died.

Better get planting vegetable seed fast.  I tried carrots in a mug once......it didn't really work.
There has already been a run on our local garden centre. Low on seeds and potting compost and cleaned out of bedding plants.

I have found too many identically named couples of similar ages and similar locations to assume that they are the same people without ordering the certificates.

London and Middlesex / Re: Missing children 1861 census - MORRIS

Could they be with grandparents?

You say checked deaths for them so are they not around after 1861 either?
Certainly researching SWMBO's ancestors it was quite common for children to live with members of the extended family.
