thank you very much for your help
she was Louisa  and her surname appears in all types of manner on censuses and certificates- Kirchner/ Kischener/Kichner and possibly Kirkon
my biggest obstacle is not finding a birth certificate but i have a wedding cert that states her father was named Benjamin Kirchner
she was born between 1827 AND 1833 in co limerick . ireland
The man i believe to have gained money would not have been mentioned in the will but came forward in response to a newspaper article from a solicitor asking for any relatives to contact them . would his name therefore be held at the archives?
thanks again

hi
im new to this site but want to post here as i too am researching Louisa as she is my great great grandmother
she married Samuel Parker in 1848 in Swansea - her father is shown as Benjamin Kirchner
in 1881 she married Thomas hill - this record shows her as being born in Ireland in 1833 and her fathers name as Benjamin Kischener
this convinces me that it is her fathers name and not her brother
there is a story in the family told to me by both my mother , aunt and grandfather that there is a family link to lord Kitchener......my great aunt had in her possession letters written by Kitchener to her mother (Louisas daughter)
these were destroyed unfortunately
the story is that a Kitchener ran off with a gardener and was therefore disowned by the family
Louisa was just 16 when she married Samuel Parker - a head gardener.
also my great grandmother told all her children not to waste time trying to get an inheritance when Kitchener died but a few years later my great uncle came into money from somewhere and built a house and opened a shop in the village
so lots of coincidences and mysteries there.
i dont know where Louisa was in 1841 but she was just 7 at the time
ive got a lovely photograph of Louisa (known by the family as granny Hill)if anyone wants a copy of it or wants me to post it on here let me know

Hi Kath
No idea where this group of Kirchener originated.  Could be Prussia or one of the countries under their rule.   Would be interesting to know.  No idea where the ones in the US came from but believe they were on the 3rd ship out of Amsterdam (supposedly came from one of the Dutchies which later became Germany.  They arrived in the US between 1709 - 1765.  My own family the "Albright" (Albrecht) arrived in 1709/10.  Made a stab at finding them in Europe but so far no luck.  Good luck finding more about your relatives.

thank you very much for responding so quickly
im still stuck researching wales and england and ireland ....looks like prussia will be my next search area then

thanks very much
i havent done much work on Samuel Parker so your info is brilliant
louisa and samuels wedding was witnessed by mary ann parker with a x  ive found an igi record for mary ann parker born 1830 in swansea father thomas parker and mother mary ann rosser
Thomas Hill was born in Lower Gornal, staffs- he was a brick maker..... there dont seem to be any children from that marriage
the louisa parker thats related to your wife - did she die in 1878 in swansea?
im wracking my brains at the mo regarding john tasker ...ive heard my late mum talk about him
ill ring my aunty in the morning to see what she knows
my mum was a veritable fountain of info who actively kept in touch with all her cousins and spent holidays in lower gornal with aunty beat , lottie and billy
unfortunately she passed away last year and my memory isnt half as good as hers was.
lovely to "meet" you

ive posted a reply on your Louisa Kirchner post

after Samuel Parker died Louisa Kirchner remarried in Stafford to Thomas Hill in 1881
in 1881 census she is living with
 Thomas Hill , husband
Samuel hill, son
Joseph hill, son ,
 Elizabeth hill , daughter
and Ellen (Nellie) Collins (my mothers cousin who was on holiday there)
in 1901 she is living in lower gornal, staffordshire with her son Samuel p Hill and his family and Nellie Collins who never did come home from her holiday!
the children of Louisa that i know of are-
Louisa Parker b 1854 Swansea
Thomas Samuel Parker b 1857 Swansea
Ann mariah Parker b 1859 (my great grandmother) Swansea
Samuel hill b 1862 Swansea
Joseph hill b 1865 Swansea
Elizabeth hill b 1868 Swansea
... i assume that the last three took their step fathers name but were infact children of samuel parker
