Hi Kris,
Brilliant, many thanks for that help. I now have details of AMELIA'S siblings, and was amazed to discover there were 8 of them. I also have her fathers name, WILLIAM BRIDGE and her mother named MARY ? I am continuing the search for the marriage of WILLIAM & MARY to ascertain MARY'S maiden name.
Once again, many thanks for your help and advice.
Kind Regards,

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1841 Census look up please. PETER STREET
« on: Tuesday 05 June 07 21:50 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to gather more information about my 3 x Gt Grandfather, PETER STREET born about 1789,    If still alive, he would have been 52 in 1841.   All I have is his name on my Gt Gt Grandfather's ( SAMUEL Street) marriage cert.
SAMUEL  was born in WARRINGTON in 1814 and married Ellen Yates (b 1817) in St Elphins Parish Church, Warrington, in 1836.    PETER was present at the Wedding so he might have lived in the Warrington area in 1841, but I have no evidence to support that theory.  I know it's a long shot but any help or advice would be very much appreciated

Hi,
Does any one have the facility to look for a baptism for my 3x Grandmother AMELIA BRIDGE who was born in Sth Petherton, Bridgwater in 1813.  I have a copy of the 1840 marriage cert but the clerk has written "full age" and put a line through the space for Fathers name. After her husbands death in 1852 AMELIA HEADFORD (Bridge) became the Innkeeper of the Exchange Inn at Puriton. So far I have been unable to discover AMELIA'S parents. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Somerset / HEADFORD'S of Bridgwater. is there an Irish connection??
« on: Tuesday 05 June 07 12:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Before I started my research, I thought my Headford ancestors were from the Manchester/Salford area.
, and before that possibly the town of Headford in Southern Ireland. However I now know they were from Bridgwater,
Somerset, but I have hit the preverbal brick wall with my 3 X Gt Grandfather William Headford, a Master Mariner, born Bridgwater in 1793.
, as there does not appear to be a baptism record.
Does any one know if the Somerset  Headfords have any ancestral connections to the Irish town of the same name.
Kind Regards to all.

Devon Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Help with birth Registration district

Hi Barbara,
How very kind of you to take the time and trouble to look up all that information on my behalf, it is much appreciated.
You were correct, John Bakers birth place was Farway. I found it on the map, it's about 8km west of Colyton.
One of Mary Ann's children, Elizabeth Headford, married Francis Bacon in Somerset in 1903. They emigrated to Australia where one of their daughters was married, in 1926, to PATRIC B LARKIN. Any connection with your Larkin?
Once again, thank you for your kind help.

Regards,
Ian Headford.

Hi Barbara,
Yes, brilliant, I think she is my Mary Ann, I have the marriage certificate, she married Benjamin Benoni Headford in Puriton Church in 1868. Her father is named as John Baker, Labourer.
Do you have an address for 1851 and are there any other family members?
Can you see any connections with your branch of Bakers?

Kind Regards,
Ian Headford,
Cumbria.

Devon Completed Lookup Requests / Help with birth Registration district

Hi,
I would like to purchase a copy birth cert for my Gt Gt Grandmother so that I can trace her parents.  She was Mary Ann Baker, born circa 1849 in COLYTON DEVON.  Can any one tell me the probable registration district that would have issued the certificate?
Mary Ann Baker appears to have been an extremely popular name in Devon during that period, some of the possibles are,,  Axminster, Taughton, South Molton, Wellington Som, Chard, St Thomas, Tiverton, Honiton etc.

Thanks,
Ian Headford,
Cumbria.
