On the 1939 Register her surname of Little is crossed out and the name Potter inserted.  As I said before the only marriage that came up as being the most likely was the 1953 one.

Find My Past does not add anything different for the marriage and also has her first name as Dorris instead of Doris.

I'm not finding any other source of information for this marriage.

If you order the marriage certificate, do so in the Potter surname with the first name of Roland.  Just give Doris's surname in the relevant box.

The fact that it is in Westmorland means that, to me, it would be the correct marriage.  The Little family are living there in 1939.

When I was looking I put in the years 1950 to 1955 in the marriages on FreeBMD.  That was the only one that appeared and seems to be in the right registration district.

Checking the 1939 Register shows the family living in North Westmoreland, so to my mind I would think that is the correct marriage.  Quite often errors in names creep in and are registered incorrectly.

I'll have a look and see if I can find a different marriage record for Doris.

Both Joyce and Doris married. Doris appears to have two children from her marriage.  There are a number of possible children for Joyce.

Their married names are McGuire for Joyce and Potter for Doris.

Perhaps you can try electoral rolls or Facebook for any of the children of Joyce and Doris.  Can't put names as they are probably still living.

This may be the marriage of the parents, although it is Mary not Ann/Annie

Marriages Dec 1883
CHAMBERS    John William        Gateshead    10a   1313
JOHNSON    Mary Elizabeth        Gateshead    10a   1313

I can't find an original image of the marriage so not able to check for further details.

Welcome to RootsChat  :D

May I suggest that you explore the Scotlands People website. Link provided below.

https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

I would recommend that you register and if you wish to view any records it will be necessary to buy credits.  The cost depends on how many you wish to buy.

This is the information about Credits:-

Most purchases are made using Credits which cost £0.25 each and are available in batches of 30 (£7.50) or 40 (£10).

All credits are valid for two years and will expire at the end of two years unless further credits are purchased in that time.

It's free to register on the site.

Welcome back after your long absence.

Perhaps you could tell what definite information you have on your 3rd gg.

Do you now know when and where Elijah was born?  Are you looking for information regarding his parents?

You were given information by other RootsChatters but did not really confirm whether any of it was correct.
