Thank you for taking the time to look up the 1901 census for me.  I have had some luck through 'Cathy'.  I have sent for birth certificate but, being impatient, couldn't wait for a reply!!!

Thank you so much for all that information.  I'm sure this must be the right Lilian.  I did send for a birth certificate for Lilian but the only info I had was her name and Doncaster district and when I rang Doncaster register office they were not sure there was enough info.  Being impatient I thought it worth a go on Roots Chat (my first attempt!).  I know nothing about my father's family so this is very interesting indeed.  Hopefully I will now be able to progress matters.

Hi everyone - I'm looking for a grandmother that I never knew!  Could someone check the 1901 census for me.  My grandmother's name was Lilian (Davis) Gales and she lived in the Doncaster area.  She would have been 9 months old on the 1901 census.  I know nothing else about her so if someone could let me have details of the 'household' it would be much appreciated.
