Lanarkshire / Brickwall BROWN / HERON / DUNN
« on: Saturday 14 August 21 06:15 BST (UK)  »

Im after as much information and help with a brick wall with my partners family. So If anyone has an Urge to help a brick wall, here it is!

My partners grandfather is….
Thomas heron brown
B June 1935 Govan, Glasgow - d April 2015 staffordshire

His father was;

Robert Brown
b. 22 Dec 1895 Patrick Glasgow
M. Catherine Heron on 21st June 1928 at Blytheswood, Glasgow
d. 2 March 1957 Govan, Glasgow

Catherine Heron
b *think* 1907 - based on marriage certificate in Ireland
m. Robert Brown, on 21st June 1928 at Blytheswood, Glasgow
d 12 Jan 1938, Glasgow

I’d also like to confirm Her parents and birth place:

Brigit Cowey and Thomas Heron - I think she’s Irish, maybe him too?
They were living in Glasgow by 1925 though?

And Robert Brown’s fAther seem to be Irish too?

William John Brown (1865-Nov 1914?) and Isabella Dunn (1868-1937) she went on to marry Henderson I believe after he died!

Help! I just keep going around in circles!
My tree is public on ancestry too with all the additional info and family members!

Armed Forces / Military Issue Spoon & Watch
« on: Thursday 09 July 20 12:32 BST (UK)  »
Hello all,

I have had 2 military items come into my possession in the last week. My Nan (97!) has gone into a home and her house is being sold - my aunts and uncles have been quite selfish in all this, and taken most of the items despite me being the family history geek! Anyway.

I don't THINK they belong to my Granddad or G Grandad, but there is a spoon (attached) with the engraving 164275 - is it WW1 or 2? I am guessing that service number and I can't work out the letters.

The second is a watch (that is still ticking) that I have done some digging on....

James John Weaver.
He was born 14th April 1881 in Bethnal Green, London
12453 was his service number.
Royal Marines Light Infantry
HMS Canada Portsmouth Division (10/8/15 - 3/8/19)
His enlistment was 6th June 1902.

I am not sure the link to my family!

Is anyone able to date this picture of my 1st Cousins 2 x removed?

I think James Frizell , the older boy was b.1918 and the girl Sarah Frizell b1915! Their parents - Isabella Hunter and James Frizell emigrated to Queensland,  ;D Oz in October 1914 the day after they married.

Unsure of their younger brother/sister name!

Thank you!

Northumberland / Hunters, Charltons and Piggs

I just wanted some help to check if I’m getting the right families here, some parish registers would have me believe that I’m on the right track but I’m not entirely convinced. I know I will need to order some certificates to prove but wanted someone to help iron out this - or connect if they have similar research! I hope this makes sense, just let me know if you need other info!

My 3rd GGPs on the Hunter side....

George Hunter (B. March 20, 1845, in Colwell, Northumberland) possibly to Jane Heddon and Robert Hunter.

He married Isabella Pigg (born in 1834 in Keepershield, Northumberland) possibly to Jane Forster and Roger Pigg.

Jane is older than George possibly with her son Thomas.

Isabella Pigg and George Hunter’s wedding is possibly in Hexham, Northumberland in July 1868.

Through the late 1800s and early 1900s I have Isabella and George living at the colliery in West Cramlington and then him at the secretary of the Coop in Cramlington and it seems they lived there too? I’ve got the same family through the census’ until 1911 and George and Isabella are still in Cramlington. But not got deaths for them.

Then on to Their son Thomas, who is my direct line 2GGF is....

Thomas Hunter/Pigg (Corbridge,
Northumberland) b Oct 1865 - d?

- on one census he’s listed as George’s stepson and birth I have is before his wedding to Isabella so could be the son of someone else. They have other children Jane, John and George W listed as children not step.

Thomas Hunter then Married Margaret Jane Charlton January 1887 in Hexham Northumberland.

Margaret Jane Charlton (Broomhaugh, Northumberland) b Jul 1867 - d Possibly during WW2 as my great grandmother returned to Northumberland to care for her while my Nan was in the Land Army

In 1939 they are Living at High Dyke Cottage, Alston , Haltwhistle R.D., Northumberland - and widowed daughter Sarah and two other people.

I’d like to get deaths for Margaret and Thomas for sure and hopefully find out more about Cramlington etc. And just to see if you think I’m on the right wavelength here!! My tree is ‘Robertson family research’ on Ancestry!

Thank you in advance!

« on: Sunday 04 February 18 15:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hello!
I’m going round in circles looking for some records for my boyfriend’s Great Grandfather and his wife.

Robert Brown (born circa 1900-1905 in Glasgow and married Catherine Heron (who was born circa 1902-05).

Their son (my boyfriend’s grandad) was born Thomas Heron Brown on 28th June 1935 and christened at Baptised at the Catholic Church, St Anthony’s in Govan.

I am looking for Catherine and Robert’s marriage and details On their other children James, John and Betty!

I’ve just picked up his tree for a break from mine!!

Help!

Sarah
