Hello, my ggg grandmother was an Eleanor McGreal, father Arthur McGreal (blacksmith). She married my ggg grandfather William Goater in Ballinrobe in 1846. William died during the Crimean war and she re-married to a William Kingston in 1855.

I'd love to hear from you if you think there might be a connection.

Best wishes

Maria

Dear Phil

Great to hear from you. Do you have any more info on Henry's parents? I am currently trying to break down a brick wall with my gggg grandfather William Goater who died during the Crimea war in 1855. I'm trying to get down to Kew to see what I can find. All I know at this stage is details of his marriage and that he joined the army in Hereford in the 1840s! Not much to go on. Would love to hear from you. Best wishes Maria :)

Dear Yukon
Just noticed your posting re Kilgarriff family. My gg grandafther Michael Flaherty married a Margaret Killgariff in Clonbern in 1872. She was born in Blindpark and was of full age when they married. Father, John Kilgarriff. Could there be a connection?

Best wishes
