Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Re: Llanblethian Parish Baptism Records - DAVID
« on: Wednesday 11 May 16 13:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi Syljun

Okay, thank you very much.  Thomas' father was noted as John, a cordwainer, on his marriage certificate.  I do think it may be John David from Laleston. I just can't find any evidence to prove this. Thomas was born about 1828, in Llanblethian.

I also have Evan and John in the same Welsh family.

Thank you very much Tony.  I think it is the couple that I am looking for.

Thanks also to everyone else for their information.

Thanks Syljun. In that case I don't think it's the Davids that I am looking for.

Okay, thank you all for looking and responding. I'll keep the Faversham marriage in mind and will probably order one of their children's birth certificates.

Thanks all.  I have the relevant census information and from that I've established that they would have married in 1892/93.

Yes, they may have married in Monmouth, or perhaps Cowbridge in the now Vale of Glamorgan.

In 1911 they were living at 75 St. Dunstan's Street, Canterbury and in 1928, when Charles died, they were living at 63 Mandeville Road, Canterbury.

Okay, thank you all once again. That doesn't sound like it'd be the Elizabeth I am looking for, she was from Monmouth and I assume Thomas met her whilst he was serving his hairdressing apprenticeship in Monmouth.  I will post a lookup request on the Glamorganshire board. I should add that I don't know Elizabeth's surname.

Thank you very much for all of your replies.

Claire - that is the couple I am looking for. It may be that they married in Glamorganshire - I have no idea at present.
