Rosball & Giblet,

Thanks for the info!

I came on here a few hours ago wondering if Andrew Paton Anderson had survived being born en route to Australia in 1857 and it turns out he lived to 91 years and had a large family! Loads more to investigate! :)

Andrew Paton Anderson was a cousin to me. His dad had lost 2 brothers in coalmining accidents in Fife before they were both 20 years old. Family then left Fife, Scotland to emigrate to Australia and a better life I would imagine.

Thanks again, much appreciated!

Giblet & Crisane,

Thanks so much for your help with this and also for the links which I will follow up.

I still stay in Dunfermline area of Scotland from where this part of my family emigrated from way back in 1857 to Australia.

Giblet,

Thanks for the link! Lived for 91 years when their was probably doubt he would survive the journey from Scotland to Australia in 1857!

Crisane -

Thanks very much for the info, this fills in a few gaps! Much appreciated!

Also hoping to find out where his wife was born / from. Not sure what Andrew Paton Anderson's  nationality would be classified as when born half way between Scotland and Australia! :)

Looking for any family information on one of my relatives who was born on the 'Glen Isla' ship bound for Australia in 1857.

Andrew Paton Anderson - Born 1857 On board 'Glen isla'.

His parents were -
John Anderson, bn 1831 Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. Died 1911 Grenfell, NSW, Australia.
Margaret Paton, bn 1830 Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. Died 1919, Grenfell, NSW, Australia.

I believe Andrew Paton Anderson and Anna Maria Dodd (birthplace and date unknown) were married in 1880 in Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia. However the trail then ends with my access levels on FindMyPast etc regarding researching. ???

Looking to find out any children to the family; any date / place of death for Andrew Paton Anderson and wife.

Thanks for any assistance.

Folks,

Thanks for all the info regarding Stewart Anderson and related family from Dunfermline, Fife area. I wasn't aware of any Australian connection to the family until a couple of weeks ago. I still stay in the Fife area and near to the last known addresses in 1851 & 1861 census in Scotland before they all moved to Australia between 1857 & 1863.

Onwards with the research and thanks again for the help, much appreciated.

Folks,

Looking for any information on -
Stewart Anderson
born 20/11/1814 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland
died 1883 in Young, New South Wales.

Stewart had a brother John Anderson, born 1809 in Fife, who also emigrated to NSW arriving on 05/12/1863, ship called 'Hotspur'. John emigrated from Crossgates, Fife with his wife Janet and 5 children. I have lots of info on John and family / descendants from various trees, however cant find anything on Stewart Anderson except he died in 1883 in Young, NSW.

Looking for any info on Stewart Anderson regarding when emigrated, married, children etc. Stewart Anderson was my 3 x great grand uncle. Stewart Anderson's parents were John Anderson and Barbara Hume, my 4 x great grandparents.

Thanks for any help.
