Hello JohnP

Many thanks for your help and the info on the 1861 Census.   It has provided far more information than I could have ever hoped for !   It explains why I could not find many of Ann's (Wiles) siblings.   You have done me a great service.   Thank you

regards
Arfermo :)

Could someone please look-up on the 1861 Census for me in order to try to trace my Great Grandfather, George Bradshaw and his family at the time.   George was born c 1837 in Toddington Beds.   His wife Ann Wiles was born c 1838 in St Neots and they have a son George Thomas b 1859, in St Neots.   I have just been informed that they were not in St Neots in 1861.   They were in  Caledonia Street in Islington when their daughter was born in 1866.   Are they there for the 1861 Census ?   If not are they anywhere in London ?    Any help would be most appreciated.
Regards Arfermo

Completed Census Requests / 1841 Lookup for Hunt family Harpenden
« on: Wednesday 01 December 04 22:15 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to ascertain if William Hunt b c 1823 and Thomas Hunt b c 1829 are brothers.
On the 1851 Census there are living in Kinsborne Green
Richard Hunt   54 b Luton
Alice                55 b Harpenden
Thomas           22 b Harpenden

Also living in Kinsborne Green are
William Hunt    28 b Harpenden
Maria               27 b Luton
Frances             3 b Harpenden

Could someone please look up the 1841 census to see if William & Thomas are actually siblings ?    Very many thanks. :)

Hello Criggy,

Many thanks for your last two messages.   The Barker burial information is very useful, it will help me to track down some of Mary Barker's siblings with any luck.   It is pretty awful though to find that few of them lived beyond 30 years old.

Thanks also for the verification of the Bradshaw Methodist Baptisms in Dunstable.

I am truly grateful for the time that you have spent on researching for my ancestors. :)  Thank you very much.

Kind regards

Hello Criggy,

Very many thanks for your help and especially in providing the 1841 & 1851 census info and a copy of the document, for my Toddington Bradshaws.  :)   In my case, the censuses were interesting as there were different Lodgers on both with the surname Barker, which was Mary Bradshaw's maiden name.   I take it that they must have been related to Mary, but am unable to follow through as the IGI seems to be very patchy at this point.

One quick question though - on the 1851 census, the number before the road, is that the house number or is it a serial number that has been used by the census enumerator ?

Once again, grateful thanks

Regards

Arfermo  ;)

Hello Criggy,

Very many thanks for the information that you have sent to me ref my Toddington Bradshaws.   It is a very great help. :)   However from your info, it would appear that Sarah & Betsey both c 23.9.1832 were twin sisters.   my belief is that Sarah died young as I cannot find anything about her anywhere, and there is another Sarah (aged 12 in 1851) in the family.    There is also a Betsy who is 16 (in 1851) and c 2 Nov 1834 (IGI).   When you next visit the Parish Registers, could youy please confirm or otherwise my thoughts/facts.

Could you also pse look up the following Birth/Baptisms for me as they are also causing me angst !

Mary Ann Bradshaw b 1853 (?) Caddington
Catherine Bradshaw b 1853 (?) Toddington
Isabella Bradshaw b 1859 (?) Caddington       All from IGI

Many thanks for your help

Regards :)
