The Common Room / Re: Death Certificates

Thank you all so very much for your collective response.
Correction he was born in 1912 not 2012  ;D
Joey great suggestion regarding the British newspapers, I hadn’t thought of that.

Guy - where would be the best place to research burial & probate records?
Ayashi - I do know he was in Scotland in 1939, it’s post WW11 that I’m struggling with. It’s actually his service record I’m looking to locate which ties in with me trying to locate his death certificate. The MOD require a death certificate as supporting information to process the service records request.  I have my late father's and additional two uncles service records, however it’s James record I am looking to locate.

Good point on future notes, I shall do that with any records I obtain.

I’ve just purchased one record, unfortunately I missed the option of the PDF so I’m eagerly waiting it’s arrival. Fingers crossed I’m extremely lucky!

The Common Room / Death Certificates

Good evening,

I have been looking for the my late uncle James lee death certifatate for a few years now. Through research I have managed to confirm that he died outside of Scotland. I have uses Scottish people and the Mitchell Liberty as my sources of information.
His address was;
46 Glasgow Road, Barrhead, Glasgow, lankarkshire, Scotland.
James was born on the 6th November 2012 at the same address as the above.
James parents were Henry Lee & Jane Lee 'nee' Coleman. Henry and Jane were married on the 6th August 1906 in Barrhead.

James enlised in to the army and experienced active service. After the was he disappeared off the face of the earth. The family "story" suggests he travelled South to find work in London, but I have been unable to find any solid evidence to support this theory.

As I have no clue of where and when he died I set the search criteria as no death before 1960 and not after 1997. This gave me the age range of 48 to 85.
I have narrowed it down to 12 possible hits that I would like to explore further. I am after suggestions on the best (and cheapest) way to look at the identified 12 death certificates.

Any help/suggestions very much welcomed.

Thank you,

Good evening,

Could some please look up the marriage of James Lee and Helen Clavin. I’m trying to locate the whereabouts of my late uncle James Lee and this is my first port of call. I haven’t had any luck trying to find him in the past and basically starting from scratch.
Thank you

I have just moved house and I am researching the houses history. John Heath is I believe the first owner. Sorry, I assumed he would have been born in a parish in Hampshire as that’s where my house is.

Many thank,
Steve

Thank you Colin that’s very helpful. This is one door in which I can now close.

I know he served drying ww2 as I have a photo of him in his uniform. I have contacted the MOD and requested his military record, but I required his death certificate.

Many thanks,
Steve

The post in Herts was a mistake - hence me posting promptly in the Hampshire site straight after. I have a copy 1939 regigester with the DOB on it. I am researching my new property and I believe John Heath was the first owner.
