Armed Forces / William Peck, 2nd Cheshire Regiment

WILLIAM JAMES NUNN HUMPHERY PECK was born in Ickleton, Cambridgeshire in 1889. Son of Charles & Priscilla Peck.
There is a William Peck b 1890 from Ickleton who is serving abroad as a Private with the 2nd Cheshire Regiment in 1911.
Is there any way I can find out if he is the same man please? If it is him can you advise me how I may be able to find out about his military career? I am aware a lot of records were destroyed in WW2 so I am keeping my fingers crossed!
