About the memorial situated
In Bottoms Lane on the outskirts of the village some 2miles from the centre of-
Cleckheaton and 1 and a quarter miles from the town of Batley.
Description-
A scroll type memorial in white, edged in a Floral
border and set in a wooden frame.
Inscription-
In grateful memory of the men of Birkenshaw Bottoms
Who served in the Great War
1914-1918.-
They shall not grow old as we
That are left to grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condem- at
The going down of the sun
And in the morning we will
Remember them.

 My Local Libary has a Archive department
I asked them if they wanted some photos taken in "1920s" of places of interest  my mum as a child is on some with companions who I don't know who they are.
The Libary was very happy to accept the photos, they were then scanned and I was given my originals back.
Mum is now in a time capsule 😊😀
