Some of the damage was beyond my ability. And being your father, and soldier, I apologize it is not a flawless restoration.

Side note: I was " cussing like a sailor" while working on this.

Here one with some color. Added subtle effects and left some damaged areas. So it has become more of a digital painting than restoration.

Edit: will work on another version this eveening, so's I would actually be presenting you a restored photo.

Here's the other B&W photo taken in April 1958.  He worked on the land so he wasn't pasty faced as suggested by the photo.

I'd appreciate one of the photos coloured.

(This is where I bow, doff my cap, scrape the floor, kiss your boots and back out of the room gracefully)

Here are some colored ones, looking quite dapper. Note, I'm not truly satisfied with his mouth. As a male this would be the equivalent of me putting on lip-stick, so you could understand my struggle. Colors can be changed easily if they are too inaccurate or you are certain of another color, or just want to see him in a hot pink suit. :)

I saw some style in there

It was tempting to color.

Kitty and James Routledge

Awesome. You can see so much more detail in her dress. I moved every slider that Photoshop offers but I could not find such clarity. Again, excellent job

Helllo, She is a very beautiful woman, seems concerned though. I put some color into the faces best I could guess. I started on the clothing too, but, for me, it is hard to tell what is what in photo's with heavy shadows. Someone else is welcome to pick-up where I left off. I have the uncolored copy as well if you would prefer.
Cheers

Wasnt sure if there actually is a mark on lip, or photo damage, but can be removed.
