Europe / Where did Berthe Emily COLINET marry a man called JONES ?
« on: Wednesday 01 June 22 11:51 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I am searching for Berthe ( Bertha) Emilie( Emily) COLINET's marriage to a man called JONES and cannot find it.

She was born in Belgium august the 9th 1898 , in Chatelet.
She was living in England with her mother Sylvie (Sylvia) and is found on the electoral roll of Acton , Middlesex from 1931 to 1935 ( meaning she became a british subject ?).

In 1939 , she is not married.

Her mother died first quarter 1959 in Newbury , Berkshire.

She died 16 feb 1975 district Basingstoke , Berkshire.

She is said to be Berthe Emilie Josephine JONES on her will (https://gw.geneanet.org/irenegenealogie?n=colinet&oc=&p=berthe+emilie+josephine).

Where did they marry? and when?

Any clues would be very helpful.

Europe / François GINIES and wife 's comings and goings on passengers lists
« on: Monday 24 January 22 13:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
is it possible to find the coming(s) and going(s) from France (Paris) to England (London) on passengers lists between 1868 to 1880 of  François GINIES ( or BEILLAT GINIES) and his wife Anne GALLET, and may be children.

Anne died in London in 1877, 2 boys were baptized in London in 1878, François died in Paris in 1880 , only one of the boys was with him.

FreeBMD gives Anne Beillat GINIES's death , and the same reference gives Adelaide GIMES at the GRO ( same person).

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Captain Alexander Wilson was wounded and made prisonner in France in january 1811 .

and next page

He went  in hospital , then in prison in Arras.
In July 1811 he asked for pardon but it was refused.

I did not find his death in Arras, maybe he finally could go back to England.

Can someone find infos about him ?

Thank you.

this was the previous look -up for
John BOOTH , my GGgrandfather .
Here is what I know :
he married in 1866 in Elton, Lancs ,Castle Croft church (rites of the Independents) was 21 then (so born around 1845 in Middleton ,according to the Census), his father was called William who was  a groom in 1866. His witness was called Ashton BOOTH , his brother .
1851 Census gives William 45 born in Middleton , Hannah (his wife ) 35 ,born in Blackley, Lancs.
children :
Ashton ,16 born in Middleton
Elizabeth ,14, born in Middleton,
Alice , 8, born in Middleton
John ,6, born in Middleton.

Then they had James , Robert and Frances (1871 Census Robert and Frances live with them, in Middleton, William has "groom" for occupation).

Freereg gives a marriage in july 1833 William Booth and Hannah THORPE in Oldham.

Am I right to think they are the right couple?
