World War One / Re: WW1 but what regiment?
« on: Monday 30 January 06 22:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi old rowley and harribobs

Thank you both for your replies.

I have looked for their medal cards but was overwhelmed with the number of names listed. That was why I wondered if a particular regiment would be of more use. Also I'm not sure if they joined up at all.

Their surname is Campbell and their ages given are from 1914
William  33
Henry  29
Alexander 26
Peter 22

They were all living in Coatbridge in 1901.

Anymore pointers would be great.
Thanks
Erika

World War One / WW1 but what regiment?

Not even sure whether these relatives joined up, but any suggestions as to which regiment 4 brothers from Coatbridge east of Glasgow would have joined in WW1?

Thanks

I had some ancestors from Coatbridge and am wondering if they served in WW1 as I have been unable to trace them since the 1901 Census?

Does anyone know if there is a  way I can find out if they joined up and possibly what happened to them.

Any help would be welcomed.

Denbighshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 CENSUS look up please WREXHAM
« on: Tuesday 24 January 06 17:34 GMT (UK)  »
Many thanks Jsl .

I have the same address for the 1851 census, although Frances is the wife of William and aged 65.
I have not come across a Francis, although I suppose it could just be a bad transcription, I have never seen an original 1841, but have heard they are quite difficult to read.

Your help has been gratefully received
