Hi Thanks for the reply

Yes I have Caroline's marriage to Christopher Milling (Millin, Millen) at Shipton under Wychwood.

My descent is through their daughter Mary Millin born in Ramsden, who married John Buckingham.

I am not aware of any possible siblings Caroline may of had.

Hi

I have Caroline's husband as Christopher Millin, and her later residence as Ramsden Oxfordshire.

On the 1841 census it states her birth as not Oxfordshire and her age 50. The only Caroline Joiner/Joyner I could find born around 1790, is this Caroline Joiner born in Gloucestershire 1790.

The bishops transcript  of her baptism, does not give her parents.

I have an ancestor Caroline Matilda Joiner  born in Gloucestershire 1790

Unfortunately The Baptism record do not give the names of her parents.

Caroline Matilda Joiner
England Births and Christenings
Name   Caroline Matilda Joiner
Gender   Female
Christening Date   19 Sep 1790
Christening Date (Original)   19 SEP 1790
Christening Place   MORETON IN MARSH,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND

There are a lot of different Joiner/Joyner baptism records in this and neighboring parishes, in that time period.

I think there three candidates for her parents

1786 – Phil JOINER married Alice KEMPSON at Moreton in Marsh
1798 – William JOYNER married Grace CAR at Bourton on the Hill
1789 - Samuel JOINER married Jane LUDGATE at Moreton in Marsh

I am wondering whether anyone has been able to make any progress on her and who her parents may have been?

Suffolk / Samuel Butcher/Bouchien/Boutchies born 1727/28

I have one ancestor a Samuel Butcher/Bouchien who lived in Brent Eleigh from about 1750 he married a women Rebecca Faires/Fairs,Fayers etc.

The earliest record of him is his marriage to Rebecca at St Marys Bury St Edmunds in 1749/50. The marriage entry states that his name is Butcher and that he is from Bradfield Comburst he is about 22 and is a Yeoman.

Saml BUTCHER, s. m., of Bradfield Combust, yeoman, 22 years, & Rebecca FAVIS, of Ely Combust, 27 years, at St. Mary, Bury St. Edmunds. 19 Feb 1750

Samuels Surname is a bit of a movable feast I have seen it as Bouchien/Bouchier/Bouchinn/ Bourchinn/Bourchier/Bourchill/Boutchies as well as Butcher. I have also speculated that it could have been Boucher/Bouchin

I have all the Baptism records of his children from his time in Brent Eleigh.

I am aware that Bradfield Comburst his a parish of record, according to the marriage registry. that no record of his Baptism has been found, or any evidence of any siblings or extended family. He seems to have appeared out of nowhere.

I do know he is listed as a Yeoman, so I assume that land must be involved somewhere. Bradfield Comburst?

My mother who's maiden name was Butcher, thought that name had been changed, anglicized  at some stage, and that they descended  from possibly Dutch or French Protestants.

I am really hoping someone can help me break this brick wall.
