I wonder if is a house name within your school you remember.  This may account for the tie.  I’m aware of a couple of schools local to me where the children have different ties according to which house they’re in.

Hi

This link should take you to schools in the Birmingham area including Castle Bromwich.  It’s rather long but you might see something you recognise, it’s searchable.

Hi

It’s possible my husbands great grandfather was in the Shropshire Light Infantry, he was also stationed in India. He fails to appear on UK censuses for 20 years yet there are children born in the UK. When I finally got his military record it showed that he returned a few times over this time period.

How long did you have to marry after the Banns were published? Could the wedding have taken place but later.

I clear my photos by sending them to my PC where I have more storage.

Then when I have them stored I delete from the Ipad, it’s amazing how many photos you can store in 8 years.

I’m also an iPad user I regularly get the message that the Storage is full in my cloud.  This is where it backups all your photos, notes etc.

To check if is the physical memory or the storage go to settings then General.  The physical memory may need a little freeing up if you’ve lots of photos, videos or downloaded books.  Also some apps take up more memory than expected.

Sorry I failed to add this was a child in a workhouse.  No sign of any relations.

It’s those one things you see when you’re researching which will always stick in your mind.

Recently I was researching something on the 1861 Census.

A few lines above my relative was a child with initials only with his described place of birth as ‘In a railway carriage, does not know where’.
