Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Baptism Lookup Request Oxford SUCH HOSIER
« on: Tuesday 16 August 11 05:56 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Still plugging away at my Oxfordian roots and I am hoping someone can help with a lookup for my 4xgreat grandparents:  William HOSIER and Martha SUCH/SUTCH.  They were born about 1790, and were married at St. Martin, Oxford, Oxfordshire 6 Oct 1811.  William was buried at St. Martin 24 Sep 1835 age 45.  I'm not certain, but I think Martha may have re-married William GRANT on 10 Oct 1836 at St. Giles.

Thanks in advance for your help and your time :-)

Yes, this is the family, and I don't know where Daniel is in the 1841 census.  Daniel and Ann had the following children:

Ellen, chr. 4 Mar 1837
William, born 7 Dec 1838, christened 2 Dec 1838 (this is our line).
Alfred, chr. 11 Oct 1840
Emily, chr. 28 Apr 1843
Walter, chr. 4 Jul 1847
Elizabeth c.1850
Fanney c.1852

I suppose the Hanna listed there could be Daniel's mother...

Hello,

I am researshing my Wiltshire roots, and am hoping to find a baptismal record for Daniel HARRIS.  According to census material, he was born about 1813.  He married Ann MUSSELL.  I've had good luck researching her family, but not so much on Daniel's.  He lived in Redlynch.

Thanks in advance for your time!

This is a start :-)  James and Sarah BLISS's daughter, Sarah Jane BLISS married a Francis WALKLETT (c.1822) on 19 May 1849 at St. Giles.  The BLISS surname shows up a lot on St. Mary Magdalene parish records.  The WALKLETTs, however, have illuded me.

In the 1861 census I found a Charles WALKLETT living with Francis and Sarah J.  There is also a John WALKLETT;  all in the St. Giles parish.  Their ages lead me to believe they are brothers.  I had hoped to go backwards and find their baptisms, and see if their father may have been Sarah Bliss's brother, to add another sibling to the Sarah/Elizabeth axis so to speak.  But I haven't had any luck there, either...

Hello  ;D

I am researching my Oxfordshire roots and hope to find a christening record for Elizabeth WALKLETT, c.1785-ish.  I think she had a sister, Sarah WALKLETT, c.1789-ish. They may have been from Kirtlington, but I'm not certain. They both married James BLISS; Elizabeth: 7 Oct 1812 St. Mary Magdalene, Oxford, and Sarah: 18 Sep 1815 St. Peter Le Bailey, Oxford.  Any help/clues would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time!

Hello!

I am looking for the following great x 4 grandparents:

William HOSIER, born about 1790
Martha SUCH or SUTCH, born about 1790
Sarah WALKLETT, born about 1789

William HOSIER and Martha SUCH were married at St Martin, Oxford, Oxfordshire on 6 Oct 1811.

Sarah WALKLETT was married to James BLISS on 18 Sep 1815 at St. Peter Le Bailey, Oxford, Oxfordshire.  James BLISS was 1st married to Elizabeth WALKLETT (c.1785) on 7 Oct 1812 at St. Mary Magdalene, Oxford, Oxfordshire.  I suspect that Elizabeth and Sarah were sisters, but not certain.

Thank you in advance for your time and your help!

Hello!

I realized while looking over my family data that I am missing my grandmother's christening date.  My mother has no idea, so I am hoping for a lookup  ;D

My grandmother, Marjorie Doreen BOOKER, was born 10 Jan 1911 at 18 St. Nicholas Road, Brighton.  She is the daughter of Frederick George and Ina Mary BOOKER.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance for your time!

Yes, that is my lot :-)

That helps to know that I SHOULD be able to find something on the BMD...

William made his way back to Eldersfield, Worcesterhire where he died in 1848, but I don't know if Susannah was with him or not...

Hello,  I am researching my great great great grandmother, Susanna HALSEY nee BAKER.  She married William Thomas HALSEY, and the family made their way to Oxford, St Thomas parish.  I am not having any luck finding a burial for Susanna on the FreeBMD, so I presume she died before 1837-ish.  Their last child, Maria HALSEY was christened 4 Jan 1829 at St Thomas (she's my line).

Thanks in advance for your help!
