No, the dates of these don't add up.
Could be she's the one holding babies in both.

Thank you.  Do you think the child on her knee in the first photo could be a boy?

Do you think the girl standing in the large photograph is the same person sitting holding the baby?

Graveyards and Gravestones / Kirkmabreck Graveyard
« on: Saturday 09 June 18 11:09 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the records of who is buried in the old Kirkmabreck graveyard. The record I saw when I was in Creetown said that my ancestor Ebenezer Maxwell was buried in plot 98 but when we looked there it was someone else.   Can I get a list of all the people buried in that graveyard from somewhere, I managed to get some names from the headstones but they were very hard to read. Also can I see who is buried in the new graveyard to see where the other members of the family are buried. They died in Creetown, Dumfries & Galloway.   When did people start to be cremated instead of buried?

I now have a list of people buried in the old graveyard.

Thank you for all your comments.  I spelt his name wrong, it should be John McConchie, he was born in Scotland in 1857 but moved to New Zealand, although I don't know when but he is on the 1881 census.
I don't have the original picture as it was sent to me by email & I have asked if they are able to get a better picture of the badge on the helmet & the sleeve.
Thank you all once again.

Are you able to identify this uniform.  It may be New Zealand. Thank you

Sorry, nothing spectacular, but I had to try.
Some people seem to pair up in the photos, so annoying that you can't see who they are.

I think the first one is quite good. Well done, thank you

Do you have any sailors in these photos?
The two men in the back row Mum +have large white splashes ... I thought it was sun or glare or something on their collars, but then I began to wonder if they were sailor collars.

Were the two photos taken at the same time or are there a few years in between.
The people in the two photos look so much alike, and yet different.
I think they look like they were taken quite close together looking at Mum, well maybe a year or two between!  My uncle & my Dad were both in the Navy but I don't recognise the men in the photo.

Had a go but no good:
I think the second one is really good. Thank you

They surely are out of focus!!    :o

Isn't it annoying when you don't have many and what you do have is not very clear!

It is such a shame.  When my Grandfather died his new wife didn't pass anything on to the rest of the family. Surprising they even had a camera.  Thank you all for trying though.
