Thank you for your interest. I looked up Lesotho death records and eventually found photos of death records but none for 1929. As a new rootschat member I do not know how to transfer to South African board - please advise.  :) :) :) :)

I reckon you are pretty close seeing that his Headstone mentions 77 years at time of death. Yet, I remain somewhat confused as his marriage certificate of 1893 gives his age as 40 at the event - which, obviously, indicates that his year of birth could have been 1853. Thanks so much for your interest and support.  :) :)

Thanks for inputs re: William Cook. I've already checked those you so kindly forwarded, the name of surviving spouse for the one I'm after is Rebecca, as found in Methodist Church records of Barberton. It may be of interest to note that the William Cook I'm after may have been born in the UK :) :)

South Africa / Meaden family - South Africa

Kindly assist with any info re; Wilf & Carrie Meaden. They had daughters Val and Pam.

I recall visiting them as a child about 1958 when they resided in Springs Transvaal. then they relocated to Welkom, Orange Free State. Upon retirement I think they moved to Pietermaritzburg, Natal. Carries's maiden name was Spence.

I accompanied my parents to Val's wedding somewhere in Johannesburg and her Husband drove a beautiful Studebaker Silver Hawk.

Apologies: I spelled Meaden as Meadon
