London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Where from here? Do I go??
« on: Saturday 14 December 19 08:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Thanks for looking at my post. I/ We have recently found further information in / on of my G / G / G Grandfather. What we had before was him on the 1851 Census with his Family in residence.
His wife, my G / G / G Grandmother dies in 1855.
We then found him next on the 1861 Census with a different "Wife", and extra children but non of the children on the 1861 Census have been entered as Step-children to him?
We cannot find any Marriage documents / information regarding this relationship, so we are assuming that they did not bother to get Married again?
We have found the "New Wife" and her previous Husband 1851 details, but we have not found / uncovered what happens to the new "Wife" and "Step-children".
As I am not really finding much more on them. Have they continued on with the Step-father's name or have the reverted back to their birth right Surname ?
My G / G / G Grandfather dies in 1863. I have not found anything more on the "extra" / acquired family, and I have been unable to find any more on the MARIA WENTZELL

London & Middlesex Resources / JOHN WENTZELL - 1791 Land Tax Record / s.
« on: Sunday 08 December 19 09:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
With my research I have acquired a copy of a record for the above. I am  wondering what to do with it
It / he ( could be ? ) the named person of who I have as an ancestor from the 1841 Census.
I'd like to research on this J.W.
His name on the record is with other names and all are side bracketed against a single name, a THOMAS SOCKWELL.
Can I assume from this that this person ( THOMAS SOCKWELL ) is the owner of the Land / premises, and my possibly named J.W. ancestor is one of the many which have paid their Taxes from the businesses which he / they have achieved at doing on the Land or Premises, or would the taxes just have been an annual charge
Can anyone supply / explain in layman's terms how to research further on this ancestor of mine from and in the year of 1791
Thank you for reading my post Regards JUST J

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Venour Census search ??
« on: Wednesday 04 December 19 10:17 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you for your quick response Willow. I realise now I have the wrong info, freebmd showing another person,a Henry Brand, which I will have to research into. Apologies for the misleading info everyone one, Regards Just J

Hi thank you for looking at my posting,

I have Marriage details for some of my ancestors for the year of 1859, but have not been able to find any census record for the 1861 and 1871 Censuses.
It's possible that it's a mistranscription of the name VENOUR ??
Marriage details are of a WILLIAM VENOUR who Married LETITIA ALICE ABBOTT ( WENTZELL ) in the Jun Qtr of 1859, Vol 1c, Page 402. Shoreditch.
I have not been able to find any census details on this couple. I have only a possible death registration for a WILLIAM VENOUR for June Qtr 1875, but I'm not sure if this is my WILLIAM VENOUR??
Shoreditch is prominent on all these records.
Many thanks, if you are able to help.
Regards JUST J
