His name was John Edward Christian born 1878 died 1953 on marriage certificate of my parents occupation was HM Forces and I can't find him on the 1901 Census but married in Liverpool in 1906.

I have looked on the forces-war-records and came up with a J Christian army no 1051 Kings Royal Rifle Corps and see that they had a regiment in Liverpool, so I'm contacting The National Archives later in the week to see if he has any records there.

Thanks to everyone who has helped with my search and even down to the medals ( how did you work out what they were in black and white ?? !! ) I'm now going to see if I can find a war record of My Grandfather with this extra information

No-one I have found alive yet, I have one more avenue to follow otherwise it'll be a dead end

Rescannned at 1200dpi but now file size is 28mb so I cant post it, any idea's of how to show it otherwise

I’ll dig out the original over he next few days and rescan in a high resolution, My grandfather ( if this is him ) lived in Liverpool and died in 1953, still tracing his wife but have address dating from 1900 onwards in and kirkdale Liverpool . He served in HM Forces ( info from my fathers marriage certificate) not a lot to go on I know but ever optimistic

I'm trying to find the location of this picture as it was in my fathers possession and I would like to know who is in it and where it might have been taken.  Cant help very much with date possibly 1930's

Found this but parents dont match

Lance Corporal CHRISTIAN, JOHN. Service Number 2720969. Died 29/11/1942. Aged 22. 56th Regt. Reconnaissance Corps.

 Son of Walter and Josephine Christian.
