Galway / Thornton in Galway (Catherine and Family) 1800-1843
« on: Friday 02 February 18 22:10 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for the Thornton family mother Catherine, children Mary, Michael and Edward (Ethrain) 1800 - 1842.

Mary Thornton convict was sent to Tasmania 1843 aged 25 Native place Galway so born about 1818.

Her convict papers say Mother Catherine, two brothers Michael and Ethrain? soldiers (I can't make out the next part) has been dead 6 years 3 years on the street.

In the WO records I can only find

Edward Thornton born Galway served in 30th Foot Regiment, 80th Foot Regiment, 31st Foot discharged age 41 so this would make him born about 1807

Michael Thornton born Galway Served 36 Foot Reg. discharged age 39 1833-1854 so this would make him born about 1815

So I believe Ethrain is Edward.

Thanks in advance

Warwickshire / Marriage lookups 1806 and 1812 Aston Juxta
« on: Tuesday 30 January 18 03:20 GMT (UK)  »
This is a long shot

A Richard Perkins was buried in Birmingham 31 Oct 1806

I have found children christened at Saint Phillips, Birmingham to parents Richard and Ann 1796 - 1805 so I suspect that this may be their father.

Some of their children married at Aston Juxta Birmingham, so to try and verify if this was their dad, I am looking to see if Ann Perkins a widow married at Aston Juxta just after the above death.

Two marriages I have found are

Ann Parkin m Richard Musgrove
10 November 1806, Aston Juxta, Birmingham

Ann Perkins m William James
14 Sept 1812, Aston Juxta, Birmingham

Thanks in advance

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / witnesses at marriage 1827
« on: Saturday 27 January 18 23:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi is anyone able to lookup a Marriage for me and see who the witnesses are.

I'm looking for the Marriage of Sarah Perkins born 4 Nov 1805 Saint Phillips, Birmingham, Warwick, England.

I have found one at Saint Phillips, Birmingham where she was christened (3 siblings were married at Aston Juxta, Birmingham) and this one says the bride was single (so I'm guessing a Spinster). I had one at Aston Juxta but she was a widow and none of the witnesses match 2 marriages I have for other siblings.

Sarah Perkins m Evan Evans 11 Sep 1827 St. Philip, Birmingham, Warwick, England

Thanks in advance.
