Thanks for your quick reply and advice.

William Reed was a weaver. He had 4 children: William, Eliza, James and George.

I think his parents may have been William and Ann. I’m getting this from someone’s ancestry tree but they have no evidence of this so just wanted to check to see if this is correct.

Hello,

I'm looking for a baptism record of William Reed/Reid/Read born approximately 1773.

1851 census gives his place of birth as Wisborough Green/Petworth.

Would be grateful if anyone could check the parish records for him.

Many thanks,

Anna

Thanks for that information, I didn’t realise. I’m more hopeful it could be her.

Hi, just seen it, thank you. I have ordered a certificate so I will see if that's my Eliza. I'm not sure it is as the age is slightly out but it could be. Thanks for all your help.

Best,

Anna

Hi all,

Thanks so much for taking a look for me. The 1901 census details are as follows:

Mother   Elisa Chesson
Birth Place
Newington, London, England
Civil parish   Newington
Ecclesiastical parish   Lady Margaret
County/Island   London
Country   England
Registration district   Southwark
Sub-registration district   Trinity, Newington
ED, institution, or vessel   15
Neighbors   View others on page
Piece   373
Folio   92
Page number   34
Household schedule number   251

Can't see any other records for her after 1901 so I'm assuming she died before the 1911 census, unless anyone can spot her.

Thanks,

Anna

Hi,

I have been searching for a death record of Eliza Jane Chessun, born 1851/2 in Surrey. I found her on 1901 census living in Henshaw Street, Southwark, however, after that I can't find any records. No further census or death record. I have gone over and over this so many times. If anyone could take a look at it for me I'd be very appreciative. Her husband, Charles Chessun died in 1886 in the Newington Workhouse, a family rumour was that she met the same fate but I've checked the workhouse records and can't find her. It's a mystery. I've checked name variants Chesson etc and even her maiden name but nothing! Much appreciated, Anna

Hello,

I'm looking for confirmation of birth of John Taplin born in Overton around 1730 (+/-). I'd be very grateful if someone could check this for me. I know he married Sarah Day in 1757 in Sherfield Upon Loddon but haven't got a birth record for him.

Best wishes,

Anna
