I was wondering if anyone had any idea where i can access any information On Gillman/ Gilman Kitchner. On ancestry I have found records within the "London, England, Freedom of the City Admission Papers, 1681-1930 Court, Land, Wills & Financial" However, not being a premium member I cannot access it. Anyone know any alternative sites I can find this information! I'm very curious as to see what it was and his occupation etc was as I cannot find it.  ???

Hi All,

Thanks for all your help earlier, hope you can help again!

My G G Grandfather Alfred James Barber (agricultural labourer, later a Scale maker) was born roughly 1863-1945. He married Elizabeth Sarah Heath in 1886. His Father Peter Barber was a Mariner (according to Alfred's wedding certificate).

However, I have found a lot of conflicting information on both Alfred & Peter. There's information suggesting Alfred was either born in Deptford or Yarmouth, although later census records state he was born Deptford (maybe just chose to put Deptford?) The family moved from yarmouth to Deptford (I Think?) as his younger brother William was born Deptford 1866.

However, all records corroborating this states Alfred James' father as Robert Barber, Not peter. 1871 shows Robert Barber as a fireman aboard a steam ship, 1881 shows him as a Mariner. (which again in Alfred's wedding certificate says his father "Peter" was a mariner?)

I cant seem to find anything saying Peter is the father of Alfred James Barber, only on the wedding certificate.

Alfred's mother maybe Mary Ann Carson?

If anyone can help with the information on Alfred and Peter, as I may have the wires crossed, would be greatly appreciated!

Hello All,

I'm looking for any info on my G G Grandfather Isaac King (Married Jessie King (Trugguno) They married 1899 In Trinity church Old Kent Road St Mary Magdalene Parish in Bermondsey/Southwark.) I have found the wedding certificate which states Isaac's father is George King. The wedding certificate states Isaac lived in Darwin street Bermondsey. After marrying, Isaac and Jessie moved to Deptford where they had their children.

Modified: on a 1911 Census it stated Isaac was born in Deptford, however on a 1901 census it states he was born NK England??

I believe he is born 1871/1870, as he was 28 when he married Jessie. His army pensions states he was born around 1871/1870 as in 1915 it states he is 45.

I Cant find any records on Isaac's birth or his Father George (Both were Bricklayers/ Labourers) so my search ends at Isaac! I can't be sure if he was born in Deptford but I can't find anything!

Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Sorry for any problems I'm New!

Mary
