The Common Room / Ships - photograph or picture
« on: Wednesday 29 August 18 11:32 BST (UK)  »
Anyone any idea where I could find a photo or picture of "Wild Horse" a ship - a barque? I believe from Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada. Thanks.

I know she was sailing in early 1860's. Was in UK waters in 1864.

Thanks for both replies.

I don't have the number.

The ship was Wild Horse out of Windsor, Nova Scotia. My ancestor was living in Edinburgh at the time and was mate on the ship.

I would appreciate some help with a question.

My ancestor drowned in the harbour falling from a Merchant ship. I have his death certificate and read the newspaper report on the incident.

Would there have been an official report or inquiry in those days and if so where would such records be kept today? Thank you.

Great post. You've inspired me to carry on. I often feel like jacking it in with my brick-walls. Your post changed that.
