I wondered if anyone lived near St. Andrew's Church, Willesden, Brent and could look in the graveyard to see if there is a gravestone with the name JOHN MARSH on it. I have just found out that my 2nd Great Grandfather JOHN MARSH was buried at St. Andrew's Church on January 10th 1894. He died on the 7th January 1894 aged 66. His address is given as The Stable, Willesden Lodge.

I am also searching for the details of his second wife's death. Her name was SARAH MARSH nee MATCHEM born 1833  Pointingdon, Somerset. I cannot find her on the 1901 census so I assume she died before this took place.

William Franklin born 1783/1784 was married to Hannah Garratt(1793 - 1876) at Warrington, Oxfordshire, on Jan 21, 1813.  The witnesses were: Wyze OSBORN and William WARD.  William is described as being a bachelor from Thorpe Mandeville.

At one time I thought William's parents were William Franklin and Mary nee Taylor but other Franklin researchers think this is not the case as there was a removal order for William and Hannah and 5 children from Claydon to Helmdon on 7th December 1822. Their argument is that William would have been sent back to Greatworth if he had any association with Greatworth.  Claire has given a baptism date of a William Franklin born 1789 and 1792 with parents William and Mary, at Greatworth both dates a little too late for my William Franklin.

Thank you all for looking this up.  Never going to quite know for sure whether the one at Abthorpe belongs to my William Franklin. he appears at Helmdon on the census.  1841 as being born 1791, 1851 and 1861 as b1784 at Greatworth and 1871 census 1784 born at Helmdon.  He was living in Thorpe Mandeville at the time of his marriage.

Is there anyone who could look up and see if there is any baptism record for a William Franklin born about 1784 at either Greatworth or Thorpe Mandeville?  Thank you.

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply.  I think we will have to look into marriages and send off for certificates.

William Hughes was the brother of Robert Joseph Hughes. The son of Robert Joseph Hughes, died in 2007  and he never knew his father or uncle. He was brought up by his mother Edith M Hughes nee Jones and his grandparents.

Edith M Hughes nee Jones married Robert Joseph Hughes 1933 - Oct-Nov-Dec[1933] (Sorry put the wrong information on)

On the 1939 register William Hughes born 1st December 1886 is a foreman Joiner, heavy lather sawer, PWC 750/328 and his wife Florence nee Watton born 12 December 1888 plus one other person (Closed Record) who I think was William Hughes born 1918. They are living at 104 Greenway Road, Runcorn.

Robert Joseph Hughes is working away from home at 3 Harrow Road , Leicester C.B., Leicestershire.
He is a General Builders Foreman. His wife is not with him.

Robert 's wife Edith M Hughes is with parents, Thomas Jones and Lily Jones. on the 1939 register. Edith  was born 3 Jun 1911. The address is 61 Bebington Road, Bebington, Cheshire. My friend doesn't know when Robert and Edith divorced.  Edith's maiden name was JONES and was William HUGHES sister-in-Law.

I am searching for information on behalf of a friend about a William Hughes born 8th May 1918 to William Hughes and Florence nee Watton at 22 Albert Street, Runcorn, Cheshire. His record is closed on the 1939 register. William had a brother called Robert Joseph Hughes born 1911 died 1979 in Southend Hospital.  Robert was married to Edith Hughes but they  divorced and Robert lived with a lady called Martha Mabel.  Robert and Edith had one son, also called Robert.
