Oh i didn't realize that the 1939 census isn't allowed,  very good to know.

I checked freebmd, not very helpful unfortunately.

I've just purchased a marriage certificate which should help.

Carolew, Do you know is there anywhere i could find an index of grave stones in the area of kenfig hill and pyle?

So I've been looking into this for a while now and can't seem to get any good information.

I'm trying to find John Jenkins in either the 1939 census and/or a death date.

What I've got so far is John and his wife Margaret James living at 79 kingston coity rd in 1911 with William Austin Jenkins,  John James Jenkins, Mary Jenkins,  Gwladys Jenkins and Ierfyl(eirfyl) Morgan Jenkins, and I've followed census records back to 1871 with John.  I can't seem to find anyone in this family in the 1939 census except William Austin. I also can't find the death records.
I've got a ancestry family tree started called Jenkins family tree if more info is needed.

John worked in the Coal industry as an insurance salesman of some sort,  his brother, also named William Austin born1879 also worked selling insurance before he died in 1909.

Last time I see John in any records is 1918 when his son William Austin joined the military he said his dad John living at 79 kingston coity rd bridgend was his next of kin.

Any help would be very much appreciated as I've been stuck here for a while.
Thanks so much in advance,

Best regards!

Do you know how I can search who served in that battalion?

That sounds very much right as he was Scottish and born in liverpool.
He was however catholic which rules out Thomas Henry

Hi everyone,

I have photo of my great grandfather when he enlisted in ww1.
I don't know anything about the photo and if anyone knows where this uniform is from that would be great.
Name was Thomas Macdonald.

Thanks so much in advance!

Yea im not sure.
Doesn't look like she fought any paternity case either.
Im looking at Catherine's family now.
Parents Isabella Gibson and James Walker. James was a tailor or weaver.

So it looks like thats all absolutely correct, Alexander was illegitimate.
If anyone has tips on how to search for his father any and all suggestions would be welcome.
I suppose his last name is Bonar, Alexander may also be his name.... all speculation of course.

Thanks in advance!
