Lanarkshire / Re: Help with adoption

Anecdotally, it was not uncommon for families to adopt one of their own.

Eg. daughter has child out of wedlock, her parents take it as their own, daughter goes on to marry and have more children. It's an alternative to Barnardos.

My parents live next door.

In fact my bedroom as a child overlooked the entire graveyard.

Searching for information on my Great-Great-Grandmother, Sarah Clarkin.

Accordingto my research she was born in Monaghan (though I have come across a reference to her (or someone else) in Maghera, Derry))

She married John Diamond in Granahan Church, Derry

Her parents were Patrick Clarkin and Bridget Walls

I'm trying to track down more information on my Great Grandfather, George Prunty.

According to the records I have found, Lisnaskea was his place of birth.

I've contacted the local Parish in Cleenish, but I'm waiting their response.

According to his marriage certificate, his parents were Thomas Prunty and Mary Cassidy.
